I'm looking for blind fabric for our kitchen, which has a 1950s feel with grey/white worktops and a dark green Aga.

To check how much a curtain or loose cover fabric will shrink if you wash it, cut a 40cm square, hem all around, measure it carefully and wash on a 30°C programme. Allow the piece to dry naturally, iron it, measure it again, then calculate any shrinkage.
