How to create the perfect dressing table

HOW TO MAKE IT WORK...
• Use decorative hooks to display your favourite necklaces and bracelets, while a vase can double as a jewellery holder. Try not to overload the jewellery to avoid a cluttered look.

• Wall-mounted lamps free up valuable space on the table and concentrate light over the mirror.

• A hand-held mirror is great for close-up use, while a place mat helps protect the table top.

• Choose one or two of your favourite fragrances and make a feature of them by decanting them into decorative perfume bottles. A layered storage box is ideal for keeping smaller pieces of jewellery safe.

• Lidded pots are brilliant for storing small jewellery items or beauty essentials such as cotton wool and hair clips.

• Neutral colours complement the overall scheme.
