For the second year running, an innovative design for the bathroom attracted the votes of Homes & Gardens readers and visitors to the Victoria & Albert Museum. In 2004, an ingenious under-bath storage unit was the winner of this category; in 2005, a similarly inventive design, the “intelligent” Axis Digital Shower has captured the imagination of voters. Controlled by an advanced electronic processor, the shower is sleekly designed and quick to install. Features include lights on the start/stop switch that flash while the water is warming up and which change to steady once the water has reached its pre-selected temperature. Cold and hot water are blended precisely before being pumped to the shower head. There is also the option of a remote switch, which can be installed up to 10 metres away from the shower – allowing it to be operated remotely.
