FOCUS
Join us on 26 September at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour for a preview of the latest collections and a chance to learn secrets from the experts
This year, Homes & Gardens has teamed up with Design Centre Chelsea Harbour – home to 74 prestigious fabric, wallpaper, accessories, furniture and lighting showrooms – to offer readers a day of inspirational decorating ideas for the home, plus the chance to save 10 per cent at selected participants.
Design Centre Chelsea Harbour is the centre of the British interior design world with a wealth of top names, including Baker London, Bella Figura, Colefax and Fowler, GP&J Baker, Robert Allen, Romo, Sanderson, Vincent Sheppard, Zimmer & Rohde and many more, all under one roof. The Homes & Gardens Readers' Day on 26 September will offer you the chance to see these top designers' fabulous autumn collections, as well as hear talks by Gail Taylor and Karen Howes (winners of the 2006 Andrew Martin Interior Designer of The Year Award), celebrity florist Simon Lycett and deputy editor of Homes & Gardens, Giles Kime.

Homes & Gardens' deputy editor, Giles Kime, will talk about future trends in interior design, covering everything from furniture and accessories to fabrics and upholstery. Giles is also the author of Homes & Gardens Decorating
(Conran Octopus, £25).
11.45am THE SECRET OF DESIGN SUCCESS
Gail Taylor and Karen Howes are the design duo behind Taylor Howes, one of Britain's most dynamic interiors partnerships. With 20 years' experience of both commercial and residential projects, they are well placed to share the secrets of creating a perfect scheme.
1.30pm FLOWERS MADE EASY
Learn the tricks of creating a beautiful display from Simon Lycett. As well as creating the floral arrangements for the wedding of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, he is responsible for the breathtaking displays at Homes & Gardens' annual Classic Design Awards gala at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
2-4pm EXPERT CLINICS
Members of BIDA (the British Interior Design Association) will be on hand
to answer your questions and solve your interior design problems. Fifteen-minute consultations will be available on a first-come-first-served basis and should be booked by calling 020 7349 0800.
DECOREX
This year, Decorex, the prestigious interiors exhibition, celebrates its 30th anniversary in the grounds of Sir Christopher Wren's Royal Hospital in Chelsea. The event offers a chance to see the latest furniture, fabrics and accessories from the biggest names in interiors and, although Decorex is a trade event, it is open for a consumer private view on Tuesday 25 September from 3-7pm. Tickets cost £20, which includes a glass of champagne on arrival and the chance to hear talks by top names, including designer Joanna Wood.
DESIGNER LECTURES
On Tuesday 25 September there is a chance to attend one of the lectures organised by the KLC School of Design, including a talk by Joanna Wood. For trade visitors there will be an extensive programme of events on all four days.

Decorex takes place in the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea, London SW3.
• By tube Sloane Square underground, on the District and Circle Line, is a short walk from the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
• By bus Decorex is served by the following bus routes: Lower Sloane Street/Chelsea Bridge Road, 137, 360; Royal Hospital Road/Victoria Station,

• By train London Victoria Station, for trains to and from the south, south-east and Gatwick Airport, is only 10 minutes away by bus. Other main-line stations

For trade visitors, the show runs from Sunday, 23 September, to Wednesday,
26 September (proof of status will be required for entry). Pre-registration costs £10, with additional badges at £5. Price includes an exhibition catalogue, to be collected at the show. Registration on the door costs £15 per person.
