Sow a patch of green manure
Feed the kitchen garden with green manure, which is plants, such as buckwheat, crimson clover and fenugreek, grown to add nutrients to the soil. Sow seed now in empty areas and in June cut down and dig the plants into the soil to benefit the following crop. Buy the seed from Suffolk Herbs, (01376) 572456.
