I hate laundry. I dread watching the pile in my bin grow taller and taller, knowing that the dreaded point of a necessary wash is approaching. I keep four sets of sheets, so it's easier to go longer between loads. I always hope that my partner will do laundry on a work-from-home day, so that I won't get saddled with the arduous task. Thus, any small change that helps make the chore less odious is a must.

That's why I was so excited when Kris Jenner released a new 'Spring' scented detergent in November. The botanical soap is available from $15.99 at Amazon, and promises powerful cleaning, advanced stain-removing power, and a pleasant scent in one highly concentrated formula.

Based on my previous positive experience with the socialite's cleaning products, I was excited to see if it could live up to these claims.

The Safely Team sent me a box with three bottles of the detergent to try on my journey to make doing laundry more bearable. When I opened the box, I was immediately impressed. The packaging is a satisfying matte green with a long cylindrical shape. When compared to traditional laundry detergent, it definitely feels more luxe. Personally, I don't love that it uses a flip cap because I find it difficult to measure, but I think others might prefer this to a traditional lid for its easy-to-guide pour.

Once I put a load of colorful clothing on, I was even more impressed. I had selected Kris's self-proclaimed favorite scent, 'Spring,' which combines tantalizing florals with warm amber and sandalwood. The fragrance was amazing coming out of the bottle. I don't always love florals, but I found it fresher and brighter than I had expected, and the base notes gave it a lovely balance.

I took Kris's recommendation and used only a few drops of soap, showing how this highly concentrated formula is a great way to cut down on laundry detergent. I turned my machine on to a multi-fabric wash and sat back.

An hour later, my load of laundry was finished, and I was anxious to see the results. Some of the reviews mentioned that the highly concentrated formula created a smell that was too strong on clean clothes, but I didn't find this to be the case.

My clothes were lightly scented in a way that I'm still noticing every time I pull them out of my drawer, but didn't feel overpowering. As someone who loves fragrance, I find it a wonderful complement to my perfume and body lotion. In fact, I see luxury-scented laundry detergent as the next evolution of our current cultural obsession with fragrance.

As for the claims on cleaning power, my Safely detergent did a great job. My clothes came out without stains or dirt, and my colors remained bright and vibrant. I can't say definitively that it cleaned better than generic detergents, but I have no complaints in this department. Given that it cleans without harsh chemicals, I would rank this non-toxic detergent a cut above the rest for its ability to remove stains using plant based surfectants and enzymes.

After air drying, they came out a bit wrinkled, but even softer. If you prefer a smoother sheet, I would recommend tumble-drying or ironing before putting them on the bed. The set included a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillowcases. Though I didn't sleep with the flat sheet from my previous cotton set, I started using the top sheet from the Cozy Earth set because it's honestly softer than anything else on my bed.

That first night, I climbed into bed in a shorts and tank top pajama set. Yes, it was a cold winter's night, but I couldn't get enough of the feel of the sheets against my skin. If you enjoy subtle holiday decorating, this one's for you. I'm no Grinch, but traditional seasonal decorating can sometimes feel like too much effort, too much cost, and too much cheese for too little payoff. Kris Jenner's holiday-themed cleaning products subvert all of these problems.

I've previously written about how Kris upgrades her Christmas decor using her Safely holiday collection, but I wasn't sure if it would work for me. So, I ordered three sets of the dish soap, hand soap, and room spray sets to try it out. After a week of using the products, I have only positive things to say. I expected the pine soap to be the most 'on the nose' holiday, but I would actually be happy to use this smell in my house year-round. As opposed to traditional Christmas candles, it's a bit more masculine and grounded. The biophilic nature of this scent was great for boosting my mood this week, I especially loved a spritz of the room spray whenever I was feeling a bit tired during work from home. It also got me in the headspace of preparing for the holidays, prompting me to start shopping for Christmas presents this week.

My favorite that I will definitely buy again after my supply runs out is the Cranberry Holly scent. Though I loved the packaging, I filled my Simple Human Liquid Soap Dispenser to save space on my counter. It's fresh and fruity and much more elevated than I'd expect from a holiday scent. I really liked using it as a dish soap because the scent permeated through my kitchen while I was using it. The most important part of dish soap is that it's effective at cleaning dishes, and everything was sparkling after I used this soap. Again, it could be easily used year-round without fear of being too Christmassy.

I have a confession: I hate white painted spaces. I know the shade is popular because it's versatile, and simple, resaleable, but it often comes off looking too soulless for my taste. Luckily, in my time as an interior design journalist, I've learned that there are simple ways to upgrade these plain schemes to make them look more interesting and attractive. Kris Jenner's technique is my favorite to date.

In cooler, north-facing rooms either emphasize the coolness by selecting a crisp white – ideal for kitchens – or, to warm up a living space, choose a white with a hint of red pigment.

Color theory in its entirety can be complicated but there are a few basic principles to help steer you in the right direction, explains Patrick O’Donnell, brand ambassador for Farrow & Ball.

‘White represents purity, innocence and new beginnings, as well as cleanliness and clarity,' he says. 'It can be used everywhere in the home but is very successful in the bathroom and any room where you want to create order and with little distraction. It is also an ideal foil for a well-curated room of art and furniture.’

If you're looking to increase the feeling of space in a room using white, paint all walls and woodwork the same shade. Use it as you would a blank canvas, then add colorful furniture and collectibles. 

In addition to furnishings, replicate Jenner's living room with foliage and flowers to chime with the simple allure of all-white schemes and to help break up swathes of white. Whether faux or real, stylized greenery will create wonderful flourishes in a room. A few single stems in a vase or a potted tree in a corner is all that is needed.

It's no secret that the Kardashian-Jenner clan's expansive properties have gallery-like qualities. Between Kendall Jenner's dreamy pink James Turrell piece in her living room, and Kim Kardashian's spotless Axel Vervoordt-designed California home, unique design fixtures are a core element of this famous family's real estate portfolio.

Momager Kris Jenner is no exception; in a recent Instagram post, she posed with her boyfriend, Corey Gamble, in front of a large, circular, gray wall sculpture in her dining area. The work's large scale draws the eyes towards it, while the marble plinth/plantstand in the corner, and neutral rug serve as balancing accessories.

While the piece is larger than a typical painting or print, experts say that it actually follows a general design rule for decorating with art: more is more.

'Wall art is as important as the furniture that you place in a room and is one of the essential elements when it comes to decorating your home,' says Nicole Lambert, marketing manager at Custtom. 'A general rule of thumb is that you should cover up to 60% of a wall with wall art, leaving the remaining 40% blank. This convention applies when hanging a single piece or a number of pieces.'

Placement is crucial when it comes to ensuring that art is displayed optimally; too high or low on the wall and viewers will not be able to take in the full piece. 

'When hanging any single picture, painting or wall art, they must also be hung at eye level with the centre of the picture measuring around 145 centimetres from the floor,' she says. 'For those wanting to create a gallery wall, the main image should be hung at eye level and then other frames placed around this, so the main image anchors the entire design.'

Finally, Lambert recommends matching statement artwork with a room's existing design. In Jenner's case, the muted gray color and curved shape of the piece is highly complementary to the soft neutrals and warm woods of its furnishings.

'Remember if you want to transform your living space, any imagery you choose (whether it’s a selection of family photos or a piece of artwork), must work with the furniture and other design elements in the room,' Lambert states. 'If you have a vintage look in the room, then you should opt for a vintage looking art piece or vintage style family photo, as a mismatch can ruin the overall ambiance of the space.'
