'A key factor to decorating with gray that Kylie has also done well is to ensure all undertones are correctly matched,' explains interior designer and paint expert Tila Lee. 'You cannot mix a green and a blue undertone, for example, as one will read cool and one warm. All grays in this space have a similar undertone, and Kylie has layered different shades with the same undertone to play off the visual interest created in the fireplace without appearing too busy.'

'Gold could also be used if the undertones are warm overall and warm accent colors are chosen,' she says. I've used my iPhone as an alarm clock for as long as I can remember. Often, I open my phone to turn off the alarm and find myself still responding to texts, refreshing my emails, and reading the news 30 minutes later. Then, I scramble to get ready to catch the train to the office.

According to The WP's neuropsychology expert from Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, Jennifer Margaret Katzenstein, even reducing your screen time by an hour a day can greatly improve your mood and quality of life. Honestly, I couldn't have predicted how much using Jenner's clock would add to my daily routines.

I immediately loved the way the sleek clock looked on my bedside table. It has a slight warm light emanating from underneath, and the time appears pleasingly discreetly on its smooth black surface. I also loved testing out all the fun features: I love playing white noise as I am falling asleep, and my partner and I have started doing Loftie's guided meditations together to fall asleep on stressful weeknights. It also has a Bluetooth speaker, if you like playing music in your bedroom.

The alarm wakes you up with a subtle first noise to rouse you, and then after a short snooze a longer alarm goes off. It has a similar ethos to popular sunrise alarms that aim to get you up the natural way. I've noticed that my mornings feel a bit slower and less jarring with the staggered alarm. I noticed that I felt more refreshed in the morning without looking at my phone for the first hour of the day, and my bedtime routine also felt more relaxing. Since I've stopped sleeping with my phone, I notice that I spend more time reading in the evenings which I've really loved. Overall, my weekly screentime reports are down by about 2 hours, which is a lot more than I would've predicted.

The only drawbacks I've noticed are that default settings are quieter and softer than I would hope. For a lighter sleeper, this might not be a problem, but I didn't wake up the first day I used the alarm because the default alarm noise wasn't loud enough. The inital settings also have a 9 minute break between the 'wake up' sound and the 'get up' sound, which felt too long for me. Luckily, this can easily be changed, so I set mine to 3 minutes. After adjusting the settings, everything went smoothly, and I've woken up to the alarm every day since.

We're taking cues from Kylie Jenner, who recently shared a video on her TikTok page of her singing the ABC's with her son at her dining table. Textured wall treatments, such as shiplap or grasscloth wallpaper, can also enhance the tactile appeal. Subtle patterns in neutral tones can create visual intrigue without overwhelming the space. Consider patterned upholstery on dining chairs, geometric rugs, or delicate motifs on table linens.'

Additionally, as Jenenr has done by implementing wood bowls, bringing in nature-inspired pieces can bring harmony to a contemporary space.

'Bring the outdoors in with elements like potted plants, fresh flowers, and botanical centerpieces,' Lichtenstein says. 'A large wooden dining table with a live-edge finish or a stone-topped buffet can anchor the room with organic beauty.'

Finally, consider incorporating decor on dining tables, as Lichtenstein notes that these are the centerpieces of most dining rooms.

'Elevate your table settings with layered place settings,' she says. 'Start with a neutral tablecloth or runner, add chargers, dinner plates, and mix-and-match napkins. Finish with elegant flatware and glassware for a complete look.'

Interior designers explain that Kylie's living room sofa is a powerful way to decorate with neutrals. Brooke Spreckman, founder and principal of Design Hutch, says that her number one tip for decorating with beige is to 'use a lot of different shades and textures of beige.' 

Brooke continues, 'If you're going for a monochromatic and neutral look, use different beige textures, and layer in various beige tones to make your space feel more curated and unique. It's best to use a variation of tones and go up and down the scale of tones if you plan on using a lot of neutrals.'

On the subject of the beige living room, Zarah O'Hare, interior design consultant at Land of Rugs, adds: 'To keep the room looking interesting, I recommend combining beige with other similar shades such as taupe, cream, and tan. This helps to add more life to the beige color by creating a contrast.' We see this effect in Kylie's living room, where the tan sofa adds visual interest to the space.

She continues on the lessons to be taken from Kylie's space: 'The key to decorating with beige is to use plenty of contrast; that can be through different textures, color, and lighting to make the beige more lively and interesting. Make sure to pay attention to the patterns, accents, and textures that you layer together.'

Kylie further creates contrast by using a boucle texture on her sofa, a technique that interior designers swear by. Brooke states: 'I find it important, no matter what color you are using, always to have a contrast between different materials when they are layered on top of each other. The texture is important, too - it will keep a solid neutral color, like beige, from falling flat. Texture can be key to keeping things interesting.'

Zara adds, 'When I am decorating with beige, I always make sure that I am adding a variety of textures and accessories. You can use soft throws, woven baskets, rugs, and various other decorations to keep the room from looking boring.'

Microgreens have been one of the biggest gardening trends of the past few years. The plants are tiny and tasty, with a multitude of vitamins and minerals including iron, magnesium, and zinc, depending on the specific green. Naturally, microgreens featured prominently in the Kardashian-Jenner 2023 Holiday Gift Guide on Poosh, Kourtney Kardashian's wellness site. Kylie Jenner chose the $295 Fieldhouse Starter Set as her top pick for a gift this holiday season.

Given their numerous health benefits and their sleek appearance, growing microgreens is definitely a garden trend we'd all like to participate in. However, we wondered if the nearly $300 price tag was necessary or worth it. We consulted Drew Swainton, Homes & Gardens' resident gardening expert, and former Michelin Star restaurant microgreens garden, to find out.

Drew said of the kitchen garden trend, 'Growing microgreens is really simple and a quick way to grow delicious and nutritious micros - with some capable of going from sowing to harvesting within two weeks. While they often adorn the plates of expensive restaurants - they need not be pricey to grow.'

If it's not via the means of a $295 kit, then how does Drew recommend growing the greens? In order to grow microgreens affordably, Drew suggests that 'any garden trays or pots that you have can be repurposed and filled with multipurpose compost or seed compost - after a thorough clean - and be used to successfully grow micros in.' He continued, 'To save on compost, you can use shallow trays to grow micros in. As you are only growing them to a juvenile stage, they do not need lots of compost to grow in. 

Drew added, 'For a real budget-friendly way to grow microgreens, you can even sprout them without any soil or compost. The seeds can be grown on biodegradable coir or hemp mats or even paper towels, though these methods are not always going to be as reliable as growing in soil.'

Furthermore, Drew says that a lighting source for this type of small vegetable garden can be cheap, or even free. He stated: 'You can grow microgreens on a bright windowsill to avoid an expensive lighting setup. During the spring and summer, a warm and bright spot inside the home will more than suffice to germinate many different types of microgreens - and it is something I have done myself at home.'

He continued, 'Artificial lights and heat may be required during the winter months, but you can get affordable grow lights to supplement the natural light for around the $20 mark.

However, Drew cautioned: 'It is important to use good quality specialist microgreen seeds in order to guarantee yourself strong germination.' 

So, if you're craving the ease and luxurious look of an all-in-one microgreen kit, Kylie's choice is a good option, but it's far from the most affordable way to grow microgreens. This might not be in the exact way that certain celebrities have exhibited themselves in their spaces, but it's a reminder that we, too, can celebrate ourselves through inventive design quirks.

'Just because Kylie Jenner's got dining chairs that the leathers dyed to match her lipstick colors doesn't mean that you have to match your lipstick color in your living room. Maybe it's more about if you have blue eyes and you feel good wearing blue; maybe that color blue should be the color you use for your own decoration. Because if you look good wearing it, think how good you're going to look surrounded by it.'

As Martin explains, Star Style is a celebration of the beautiful homes that allowed him to become one of the most prominent designers in the industry. However, it also invites us to think about how we can make our own homes our havens, too.

'I wanted it to be a celebration of them, of their style, hence the name, Star Style, and I wanted to give readers an opportunity to see and understand how we got to those interiors – what makes them so individual,' he says.

'It allows us to see the essence of each celebrity client within their homes and what makes it theirs. What makes these homes their sanctuaries?'

'I want people to see the elements of different celebrity personalities throughout, but I hope it encourages them to bring out their own personality and not be scared of that. Sometimes, people are scared of being too adventurous. This is your sign to design with passion and bring out your star style.'

Interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, who designed the home with Jenner, shared on Instagram yesterday a styled snapshot of perhaps the most synonymous room to the reality star: the ‘glam room’.

Paying tribute to this year’s much-talked-about Barbie movie, the rise of pink room ideas has been all over social media. But it appears Jenner had this trend nailed long before the Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling hit movie.

Jenner spoke to Architectural Digest on the design of her home, saying: ‘I told Martyn I wanted a fresh, fun vibe to match the way I was feeling. Color was essential. I love pink, and I wanted a lot of it!’

The room has two candyfloss pink swivel chairs, along with a long-pile soft, cloud-like rug positioned underfoot. Making a nod to old Hollywood, the full-width mirror features traditional circular vanity lights, making for the perfect getting-ready and selfie-taking spot. 

The room is complete with a playful neon ‘Plastic’ sign, and a fully pink countertop with custom-built storage drawers for her expansive cosmetic collections underneath. 

‘My closets and glam room are very personal to me, even down to the size of each drawer, so they fit my specific products and clothes. I spend a lot of time in those rooms, so we had to make sure they were perfect,’  Jenner tells Architectural Digest. 

Ksenya Malina, Principal at Time & Place Interiors, shares her take on the pink-themed interiors trend: ‘For a retro look, I love the use of pink in a room. Coupled with sophisticated fixtures like matte black detailing, a pink themed room can look like an elevated twist on a vintage style.

‘Selecting pink accents like pink glass light fixtures, a pink accent chair, or a pink rug adds a whimsical touch to a room, instantly uplifting the mood.’

Kylie Jenner has chosen a new favorite selfie spot… and we’re here for it. The Kylie Cosmetics founder has been snapping lots of casual iPhone pictures in a surprising, previously unseen location: her sleek, warm minimalist entryway. 

Kylie purchased her sprawling Hidden Hills mansion in Los Angeles for a little over $12 million in 2020, close to the houses of family members like Kris Jenner. She has resided in the beautiful home, decorated by celebrity interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, since with her two children Stormi Webster and Aire Webster.

In her gorgeous foyer, the former Keeping Up With the Kardashians star poses relaxedly seated on a cozy boucle armchair. Behind her, the mid-century modern space seems set up to emphasize Kylie Jenner’s interests and values. The glass railing of the influencer’s contemporary staircase lets us view a gallery wall featuring black and white photos of Kylie’s family, including an adorable shot of the star pictured with her sister, Kendall Jenner. 

On the first floor, an impressive glass wine cellar showcases the influencer’s formidable collection of fine wines. Aside from these touches, the space is relatively neutral with an organic-looking brown rug, a long wooden table covered in books, a retro lamp, and a thin willow tree.

What’s the key to why the ‘lip kit’ mogul’s simple space looks so elevated? It all comes down to the white paint color. Bynn Esmond, principal designer at Bynn Esmond Designs says that she ‘especially likes using white for its high LRV (Light Reflective Value) as it helps make the space lighter and brighter.’ This brightening property is certainly clear in Kylie Jenner’s LA entryway, where we can see light from the lamp and wine cabinet reflected throughout the room.

Furthermore, Bynn emphasizes the ability of white to make other elements in the room stand out even more. She writes ‘a neutral white acts as a blank slate to allow for layering of color, depth, warmth. It becomes the backdrop that allows its louder counterparts to shine through.’ 

In Kylie’s space, the simple color allows even more understated elements of her room like the black and white portraits and the willowy tree to speak loudly. 

Even better, interior designers say this neutral shade will never go out of style. Design expert Aleksandra Nova states that white is her favorite color to use in a project. Over the weekend, one of Kylie Jenner's 52.8 million followers requested a tour of her $36 million estate – but they received something slightly more pared-back. 

The media personality – and youngest Kardashian-Jenner sibling – moved into her mansion in the prestigious Holmby Hills in 2020 – and since then, she has shared occasional snippets of certain rooms on social media. However, she had never offered a 'house tour' until she finally gave in to requests this weekend... well, sort of. 

'I'm not going to do a full house tour, but I'll show you what room I'm in. I'm in my home bar right now, and I like it because it has this pretty light,' Kylie says in the footage (below). We agree that her light is very pretty, and we have found an almost-identical match on 1Dibs here. 

As one of the world's best homes, it is no surprise that the bar area is one of the most impressive we've ever seen – complete with a (surprisingly) gray shiplap wall and chic white marble kitchen countertops. However, despite not offering a full house tour, we were treated to a look around more than just her bar. 

Kylie then progressed to the open-plan room that flows from the bar area. Reportedly, the whole home spans only one story – but it is certainly not on the small side. The expansive property comprises 15,000 square feet and includes seven bedrooms and two guest apartments. 

The designer of her Holmby Hills specifically remains unclear, but we'd hazard a guess that Martyn Lawrence Bullard has some impact on her decorating choices. The British-born designer created her Hidden Hills residence, which is notably more colorful than the Holmby Hills property in the 'tour.' 

In her living room, Kylie has used a more neutral decorating palette – complete with a large light gray sofa, a dark wooden table, and patterned white and brown carpet. In this space, Kylie also shows a 'game' she has constructed on her wooden counter before walking to the star of the tour: her white piano.

'I'm gonna learn how to play. My daughter plays the piano; she has piano lessons every week,' Kylie shared while sitting on the piano stool in the corner of her room. 'I'm gonna learn. I decided this summer I'm gonna learn how to play piano.'

A look at the piano concluded her mini tour, but of course, we were left wanting more. But what else do we know about her home? Alongside the wet bar, Kylie's fortress-like estate has a giant home theater, a gym, and a games room. There is also a large chef's kitchen that reportedly plays host to a stylish European-style cabinetry and top-of-the-range appliances, naturally. 

It is perhaps inevitable that Kylie Jenner has a generous walk-in closet that wouldn't look out of place in Carrie Bradshaw's apartment.

The media personality has an enviable collection of designer merchandise – spanning various colorways for every mood and occasion. And, while we are (naturally) impressed by the goods in question – we admit that her method of storing has stolen the show (for us, at least).

H&G's Interiors Therapy and Feng Shui expert Suzanne Roynon says that this arrangement can teach us a lot about our closet organization – even if we're working with a smaller set-up. 

'Kylie's shoe closet is full to bursting,' Suzanne says. 'Like many around the world, she has a passion for shoes and purses, and as a result, she's optimized her available space to display them all.'

'It's great to see the color coordination and care Kylie takes to protect her accessories by using glass doors for maximum visibility and reducing extremes of heat. Kylie is clearly drawn to the pink, nude, and acid green colorways and has everything within easy reach.'

Megan Baker, an organization expert from My Fitted Bedroom, agrees. She, too, emphasizes the impact of regimented shoe storage (such as Kylie's) – adding that a dedicated space for shoes can make your entire closet feel more streamlined (and make mornings more seamless).

'If you're a shoe addict, you will know that finding a home for your most prized possessions can dominate valuable wardrobe space. They can also easily become a messy element within a closet; shoved on shelves or chucked at the bottom of a wardrobe. Shoe racks make all types of shoes accessible and tidy,' Megan says.

The expert says that displaying your shoes in an organized way is a great time saver when pulling an outfit together. It also helps you know when specific shoes need cleaning and repairing – 'which in turn will make them last longer.'

Plus, there is one more lesson that you can take from Kylie's closet – and it comes down to the art of decluttering. Suzanne adds that, like many of us, the socialite may be known to store shoes for those 'just in case' occasions – so, if she were working with Kylie, she would ask her to clear away the pieces she is unlikely to use – to ensure 'getting dressed up is even more pleasurable.'

Kylie Jenner is said to be moving 'next door' to her sister Khloe Kardashian following reports that she is on a 'break' from rapper Travis Scott. 

The socialite and businesswoman owns an 18,000 square-foot plot in Hollywood Hills between Khloé’s $17 million property and her mom Kris Jenner who also lives in the vicinity. Kylie and Travis are rumored to be offloading their 9,600-square-foot mansion in Beverly Crest, which they purchased together in 2018 for $21.9 million. 

With a sleek earthy color scheme, modern architectural features, and a 90210 postcode, their estate is easily qualifiable as one of the world's best homes – however, it is no longer appealing to Kylie, who is set to surround herself with family in her new property (so new, in fact, that it's still under construction). 

Amid listing their home, photos acquired by The Sun show that construction at Kylie's Hollywood Hills plot is noticeably moving forward. The foundations and beams have all been laid for the property that is expected to tower over multi-stories. Reports also suggest the property will span 18,000 square feet – making it one of the largest homes in Calabasas, Los Angeles. 

Since the home is still under construction, little is known about Kylie Jenner's decorating ideas or future design plans. However, Cinema Blend report that permits from 2020 (when she purchased the home)  approved for construction of a guest house, swimming pool, sports court, and a 12-car garage. 

The images also show the proximity of Kylie's new home to those of her sister Khloe, who resides in an adjacent mansion. She, too, custom-built her home on the $17 million plot – likely inspiring the 25-year-old billionaire to do the same. 

Meanwhile, her mom and soon-to-be neighbor Kris Jenner owns a $20 million estate with eight bedrooms, a piano room, and a bar – to name but a few of its luxury amenities. Other Kar-Jenner stars, Kim and Kourtney, also (perhaps unsurprisingly) also own properties not too far from the neighborhood. 

Alongside her new home – and the one which she is offloading with Travis Scott – Kylie Jenner also owns a $36.5 million home in Holby Hills. She is also constructing (yet another) brand-new property – the latter being a stylish Palm Springs villa in the Sonoran Desert of southern California. It is not yet known when construction will be completed, but as reports suggest, they're certainly on their way.

It is hard not to begin with Kylie Jenner, the socialite, and businesswoman whose tree rivals that of royalty. We've already penned a (well deserved) love letter to Kylie Jenner's Christmas tree, that towers over 18 feet in the entryway of her L.A. Hidden Hills mansion. 

The mini Santa ornaments are arguably the most notable feature on Kylie's tree, but you can learn a lot from her indoor Christmas light ideas, too. The footage shows warm-toned string lights that surround the ornaments and illuminate the entryway with being too over the top – because when you choose a big tree such as this, you can let its size do all the talking. 

2. Millie Bobby Brown 

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown shared footage of her tree in mid-November, but (after seeing her decorations) it's easy to understand the actress's yearning for the holidays. While the tree is not quite as large as Kylie's in size, it is just as inspiring in its understated and (somewhat surprising) traditional style.

Pictured also in her entryway, the tree stands next to Millie's staircase. The actress, and her boyfriend Jake Bongiovi (Jon Bon Jovi's son) are captured hanging red and gold ornaments on their branches before wrapping the tree in a thick red and green ribbon. 3. Fredrik Eklund 

Fredrik Eklund is known for fronting Bravo's Million Dollar Listing New York, but in a break from the ordinary, fans were treated to a glimpse inside his house – and it did not disappoint. It is no surprise that Joanna Gaines' Christmas decorations are already amongst our favorites – thanks to their timeless red, green and gold color scheme and eclectic ornaments that are fitting for her family home.

1. The Royal Family 

Every year a stunning 20ft Norwegian Spruce tree, taken from the grounds of Windsor Great Park, is erected in the historic St George’s Hall, and this year is no exception. 

The tree was dressed with 3,000 lights, and decorated with regal red and gold mirrored ornaments. Topped with a lovely Angel dressed in a gold dress and red velvet robe.

2. Rob Lowe

Actor Rob Lowe posted this rather adorable photo of his dashing dogs, all dressed up for Christmas. Oh – and the Christmas tree – decorated in shimmering touches of gold and silver looks pretty good, too.
