Gwyneth Paltrow's Montecito home is the stuff of legends. In 2022, she worked with iconic designers Roman and Williams and Romanek Design Studio to create a luxuriously laid-back California sanctuary that championed the Goop founder's personal style.

We still haven't forgotten. Every space in the home is stunning, but the home bar in Gwyneth's living room is one of my favorite design details of all time.

I look at dozens of gorgeous interiors a day in my role as a News Editor at Homes & Gardens, so when something sticks in my brain like a tattoo, I know it's truly special. For many of us, fall is prime time for apple picking, though orchards are typically the destination to pick these seasonal fruits. If you're lucky enough to have your own trees growing in your backyard, then apple picking is likely a daily ritual in the autumn; Gwyneth Paltrow likes to pick hers before breakfast.

In her latest instalment of her Boyfriend Breakfast series on Instagram, the Goop founder ventured to her lush orchard to pick fresh apples for a baked Dutch pancake, and let's just say we are inspired.

'Good secateurs, a strong pair of gloves, a pruning saw and a sturdy, reliable ladder, are all essential to successfully pruning fruit trees,' explains Gerry Edwards, orchard expert at Henchman. 'When looking for a tool, make sure that the blade is sharp and clean, and that the tool is comfortable to use.'

Once you have your accessories assembled, Gary recommends looking for any parts of the tree that should be immediately cut off.

'Generally speaking, the first step when pruning a fruit tree is to remove dead, dying or diseased branches,' he says. 'Then thin out the extra branches and shape the tree, heading back the remaining branches to encourage new growth.'

He continues, 'Aim to take between 10 and 20 per cent of the overall canopy off, working around the tree evenly. Don’t forget that you can always go back next year and take off more.'

However, don't get too ambitious with removal, as it can actually damage an otherwise healthy tree.

'The more you prune, the stronger the regrowth, so be careful not to prune too hard!'

Gwyneth Paltrow is a world-famous actress and founder of the multi-million dollar lifestyle brand Goop; I am a 26-year-old writer living in a London flat-share. Needless to say, we are in slightly dissimilar financial positions.

As an all-around wellness guru, we trust goop-founder Gwyneth Paltrow when it comes to her lifestyle recommendations. We were delighted, then, when she recently revealed her sleep regimen in an interview – including the exact bedding she likes to use.

It has deep and crinkled green leaves, and plants commonly reach 2-3 feet high – though you can get dwarf varieties ideal for smaller vegetable gardens.'

Want to grow kale like Paltrow's? There are a few key steps to keep in mind when growing and caring for this cruciferous vegetable, and ensuring its longevity.

'Kale thrives in fertile and well-draining soil and can either be grown from seed by sowing in mid-to-late spring, or plants are commonly available to plant in late spring or early summer,' Swainston explains. 'Plants want to be kept well-watered throughout summer, and it is recommended that plants be covered with fine netting to keep them protected from birds and caterpillars that can nibble holes in leaves.'

Additionally, listing agent Lea Porter of the Beverly Hills Estates shared that Paltrow is selling her long-time family home to 'downsize' now that her children are older (as per the Wall Street Journal). She listed the estate only one day after attending her son Moses’ high school graduation last week.

According to the listing, the sale offers a 'rare opportunity to own one of Brentwood's finest estates.' It also happens to be right next door to Kendrick Lamar's home, in case we need any more convincing.
