This year has already shown several 'trends' that are transforming how we decorate, but arguably, none is more beautiful than the wooden kitchen revival. This earthy movement celebrates natural, unpainted cabinets and countertops – both of which bring a grounding aesthetic to homes of all sizes.

By combining her wooden cabinets with contemporary marble, Zendaya enjoys the benefits of the year's most sustainable kitchen trend while ensuring that her apartment upholds a modern aesthetic overall.

This look hasn't gone unnoticed by experts, including Laminam's R&D Director, Claudio Corniola, who encourages us to mix marble with other materials when planning our future kitchen design, particularly as we spend more time indoors during the holiday season.

'Marble and marble-look surfaces and décor have reigned supreme in kitchens over the last few years and are now a timeless classic, and searches for "Marble [Countertops]" continue to soar,' Corniola says.

'For kitchen designs, designers will be mixing marble-look surfaces with other textures and colors such as wood, cement, steel, or glass for a more visually impactful result. Choosing a marble-effect surface such as porcelain is easier to care for and maintain than real marble, and so will be a popular choice to contrast alongside other materials.'

Corniola is not exclusive in his observations. Designer Huse Kilic at Archispek worked with marble experts Caesarstone to design a space similar to Zendaya's, combining natural woods and sleek lines with a waterfall island for a perfectly balanced space.

'When blended with the design scheme's warm woods and muted pastels, the concrete waterfall island creates a harmonious balance between traditional and modern style,' comments Jon Stanley, the VP of marketing at Caesarstone.

'The island's clean lines and sleek design make for an aesthetically pleasing kitchen centerpiece that is, above all, incredibly practical, serving as an essential central hub for preparing dinner and socializing' – ideal for gathering family and friends during the busy, joyful season ahead.

This may not be the first time you take style lessons from Zendaya, but it may be the first time you learn something from her bathroom. The actress is a force in the film and fashion industries, so it's only fitting that her home follow suit. Believe it ot not, the most trendy space of all is her bathroom, and we owe its sucsess to wood.

The question of whether you should use wood in a bathroom is an age-old debate among designers, but this material has become increasingly popular this year, and Zendaya's twist reminds us why. She exhibits a rich, wood-paved wall that upgrades her gray and white bathroom into a soothing, spa-like space that's textured and beautiful.

As a celebrity style editor, I've seen an increasing number of figures turn away from the paintbrush (and even tiles) and experiment with more organic, wooden features in their bathrooms and kitchens. As designers explain, it's one of the biggest interior design trends of the year, but since Zendaya's space dates back to 2017, it's clear that she was, as ever, ahead of the curve.

As design experts explain, wooden walls (or any wooden features, for that matter) tap into not one, but two top bathroom trends for this year, starting with the rise of textured finishes.

'Texture finishes are key to adding depth and dynamism to bathrooms in 2025. Offering a way to create depth, personality, and sensory engagement within the space, materials such as ribbed wood or stone surfaces will remain popular, evoking a sense of warmth and transforming bathrooms into immersive environments that go beyond mere functionality,' comments Jorge Hernandez, the head of design at Bathroom Brands Group.

'Visual texture will also play an essential role in enhancing these finishes, adding layers of detail through patterns like geometric or organic motifs, and creating a sense of movement and flow within the room.'

Secondly, the use of natural, unpainted wood is key to mastering the 'Japandi Nouveau' look, described by Jorge as 'a refined evolution of the Japandi style'.

'This trend continues to balance Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian functionality whilst introducing richer, more expressive elements. Soft neutral palettes, curved shapes, and echoes of natural motifs help to create the ultimate zen aesthetic, whilst conveying a sense of craft through textured finishes, artisanal details, and layered materials,' he says.

Whether you go as bold as Zendaya (with a wooden accent wall) or incorporate natural accessories to work with your current bathroom, you can be sure this look will continue to impress. Zendaya has set the bar since 2017, after all.

There are style influencers, then there is Zendaya – the Hollywood force responsible for shaping fashion and beauty trends. Unsurprisingly, her open-plan Brooklyn apartment follows suit, starting with a retro staple in her dining area.

The Challengers actress introduced rattan through her caned dining chairs, a series of which surround her light wooden table. While these chairs are part of the dining space, the open-plan layout means that they are visible from every part of the living area – meaning she can enjoy their retro-style charm whether she's dining or not.

Rattan is one of the top vintage trends making a comeback (though its popularity hasn't really wavered since the '60s. However, with that said, traditional caned Bergere chairs with wooden frames and woven cane panels (similar to Zendaya's) first became popular in 19th-century Europe, notably in the Regency period. Today, designers often bring rattan furniture outside, but Zendaya's chairs remind us just how beautiful it can look indoors.

'Rattan furniture is well known as a timeless staple for outdoor spaces, but it can also be great indoors for homes looking to embrace more natural materials. Its woven wicker-like design adds fantastic texture and warmth to any setting, making it perfect for creating cozy, relaxed atmospheres in either outdoor or in-home living,' comments Chloe Barrow, an interior expert at Laura James.

When bringing rattan indoors, Barrow encourages us to consider the textures that complement it. Zendaya pairs her chairs with white leather accent chairs and a gray fabric sofa – keeping her open-plan living space neutral yet interesting through the varied materials.

'Indoors, natural rattan immediately introduces an organic, earthy vibe that pairs really well with both modern and traditional interiors. Neutral-toned rattan works seamlessly with soft cushions and throws, which adds an incredible level of texture to a room. I would opt for using rattan as a perfect statement dining chair or as a casual seating area anywhere you may need to fill an empty space,' Barrow explains.

Sue Jones, the co-founder and creative director at OKA, agrees. She, too, emphasizes its versatility, adding that it looks beautiful in every kind of home (whether it's modern and neutral like Zendaya's or even more maximalist).

'Rattan has always been popular because it’s strong, sustainable, lightweight, and stands the test of time. There’s something about its handwoven texture that instantly makes a room feel relaxed; it doesn’t matter if you’re working with contemporary interiors or more traditional space, rattan has a place in most homes,' Jones says.

'In dining rooms, you can incorporate rattan in your furniture, like our Balabac sideboard with rattan doors or a display cabinet. You could also bring rattan elements to your tableware with coasters, underplates, or placemats.'

Of course, 2024's 'Queen of the Met Gala' has a residence overlooking the city that (pretty much) everybody is talking about this week. However, while the Dune actress may have made waves on Manhattan's red carpet, she has chosen an apartment across the water in Brooklyn – and the entire space is a designer lovers delight.

We may have already taken a moment for the statement slab backsplash in Zendaya's kitchen and her use of the 'unexpected red theory' in the living room – but the latter space also plays host to her curated coffee table styling that showcases the rule of three.

The 'rule of three' principle is certainly no new phenomenon, but Zendaya's contemporary styling brings a modern yet personal twist to the tried-and-tested rule. As seen in the sixth photo of the carousel below, she gathered three books alongside three art pieces that bring a sense of personality to her table. The actress also tied the two sets of three objects together with a statement vase and flowers – for a look that is contemporary, curated, and effortlessly timeless. But what makes this rule so powerful?

'The rule of three is a powerful principle in design, especially in interior design. It's all about creating balance, harmony, and visual interest by arranging elements in groups of three. Whether it’s three books on a coffee table or three mirrors on the dining room wall, this arrangement tends to be more appealing to the eye compared to an even number of items,' begins New York-based designer Emily Shron of Shron Design.

'It is thought that humans process information better in smaller, odd-numbered sets, which creates a sense of rhythm and makes the space feel cohesive.'

Zendaya's home offers the ultimate coffee table inspiration, but the rule works on surfaces beyond the living room. In previous projects, Shron has styled a kitchen table with three vases for a balanced aesthetic that brings a sense of cohesion to the busiest room of the home. Similarly, she decorated an entryway table (below) with three books and three vases to make a first impression that counts.

Plus, Shron is not exclusive in her admiration for the rule. New York-based designer Isy Runsewe from Isy's Interiors also uses it to 'create balance, rhythm, and visual interest' in her projects.

'The eye wants to create a rhythmic pattern, and by grouping things in threes, you're purposefully drawing the eye's attention but avoiding the feel of clutter, allowing the eye to span the space with a sense of cohesiveness,' Runsewe explains.

'At the same time, odd number groupings, particularly three, add visual interest with a hint of asymmetry, specifically when you start to add height to the arrangement. If you can create a focal point with three, then you automatically start to distribute the visual weight, again creating balance and rhythm.'

'[This rule] is a simple yet powerful guideline that can be adapted to suit different design styles and scenarios. The eye seeks this harmony and it's quite a pleasing result when implemented,' Runsewe adds. And if Zendaya is an advocate, we're not about to disagree.

Like many of us last night, I spent it in my unglamorous sweatpants scrolling through the internet giving my (unsolicited) opinions on the Met Gala outfits. It's become somewhat of a tradition, I am on UK time, so I take to bed with my phone and stay up as late as possible watching the guests arrive, seeing who's done what this year, what crazy beautiful outfits have been thought up, and how everyone has interpreted the theme – this year it was Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, with the more specific dress code of The Garden of Time.

The Met Gala never disappoints, but this year it felt extra magical. The outfits were some of the best I have seen in years and even the carpet itself was dressed in ethereal green and delicate foliage. 

Of course, I also look at the Met Gala with my interiors eye too, the whole theme fits with so many interior design trends we have seen in 2024. The darker jewel-toned colors, the influences from nature, romantic, fairytale-like styles. The fashion and interior design worlds are constantly influencing one another, so it's hardly a surprise I saw so many design trends everyone is loving reflected on the green carpet last night. 

Clearly, I wasn't the only one who was thinking interiors while taking in the Met Gala coverage. Iconic paint brand Farrow & Ball, posted the perfect Instagram post this morning, creating color and pattern palettes from the best looks of the Met Gala 2024. 

The post includes the outfits of Zendaya, Deborah Roberts, Gwendoline Christie, Giovanna Engelbert, Anok Yai, Imaan Hammam, Karlie Kloss, and Jamie Dornan. Each has been color-matched with a Farrow & Ball paint or wallpaper, and seeing the swatches really gives a clear idea of the palette of the event on the whole. There were so many rich jewel tones, dark reds, clashed with pale pastels.

'Fashion has influenced many Interior trends through color, materials, and silhouettes. From Quiet Luxury to The unexpected Red theory, fashion has played a significant role in shaping interiors in recent years,' explains Charlotte Cosby, Farrow & Ball's Creative Director.

'There was a definite ethereal, gothic feel to many of the looks for the 2024 MET GALA with nuanced shades of black and complex layering making multiple appearances on the red carpet. We wanted to select looks that represented everything, but we particularly enjoyed the abundance of color.'

'I had so much fun interpreting these fashion looks into interiors – with color anything can be your inspiration!  and hopefully these schemes will inspire people to be just as brave in their interiors. I'd love to see Zendaya's scheme come to life.' 

Zendaya's dress(es) was perhaps the most talked about of the evening, and thanks to Farrow & Ball her deep blue gown, by Maison Margiela’s John Galliano, has become the inspiration for my living room makeover. 

I've been wanting to move away from my white walls and create a room that feels more cozy and cocooning and this moody blue, slightly gothic color palette is perfect. A sample of Stiffkey Blue is on its way to me, and I love the mix of florals and stripes with the two wallpapers. There's an art to mixing pattern, but pairing a broad stripe with a busier, smaller pattern is a combo that always works. 

There's a gothic feel to this look that leans into the love of moody shades we are seeing in 2024 color trends, plus the revival of more ornate design styles like Regency and Victorian.  

I asked some of the H&G team for their favorite looks that transcend just fashion and would work just as well in interior design. Our editor Jennifer Ebert was drawn to the deep reds and how they often clashed with pale, softer pastel hues. 

She explains, 'Fashion’s obsession with unexpected red has been impossible to ignore in 2024, seen on the runway, the red carpet and more recently in our homes. But if you are at a loss with how to pair this energetic color, look no further than blue. Red and pale blue, as seen on Jamie Dornan, is a powerful duo that will pack a decorative punch. There is no better way to introduce a dose of dopamine to your home.'

Our head of celebrity, Megan Slack is obviously well versed in how celebrity style can have an impact on interior trends. She explains about her favorite look, 'Rising to significance in the 18th century, Toile de Jouy is a traditional French design that is celebrated globally for its storytelling of natural, wholesome scenes – but there’s no more beautiful (or vibrant) homage to this style than Deborah Roberts’s yellow gown.'

'This Harlem Toile x Mark Ingram piece features dreamlike nature-scape sketches that likely tap into the Garden of Time Met Gala theme. When bringing this into our home (most often through wallpaper), we should look for bucolic scenes that illustrate scenarios that we would consider simplistic in the contemporary world (however these were once an elevation of society/a dream). Or, naturally, Farrow & Ball’s Gable is another stunning alternative.'

2024's most surprising decorating technique has revealed itself as the (aptly) named 'unexpected red theory' – and its power isn't lost on designers and celebrities alike. Among the most recent (yet maybe unintentional) examples of unexpected red in action is seen in none other than Zendaya's living room – an otherwise neutral space overlooking the East River, naturally. 

The unexpected red theory stems from creator Taylor Simon, who defines the trend as 'adding anything that's red, big or small, to a room where it doesn't match at all – and it automatically looks better.' This can be anything from a cushion to a vase, but in Zendaya's case, it's in the form of a footstool duo. 

In her open-plan living space, the Dune actress interrupts her neutral color palette with two dark red footstools (seen on the third and seventh slides of the photo carousel below). Whether this is an intentional nod to the trend or not, it captures the theory perfectly – and reminds us how easy it is to follow suit. 

As with every design trend, the red theory means something different in every home. In Zendaya's case, her footstools bring instant color to her neutral room and ensure the subtle palette is anything but boring. However, we aren't limited to footstools – or even soft furnishings. 

'I have a red table in my living room – it adds such a vibrancy to the space. While living rooms are often used for relaxing, the red gives me the energy I need when hosting friends and family, and a nice focal point to talk about.' comments color expert and the creative lead at Dulux Stephanie King.

'We are typically lovers of neutral interiors, but the unexpected red trend is just one way we've seen DIYers get braver with their color choices. The transformative effect of a simple pop of color is amazing- and red is one of the most stimulating of all. I'm really excited to see people getting experimental with it.'

As mentioned, in Zendaya's case, her red stools complement the cream and beige-hued living room, but red furnishings are just as impactful in rooms that experiment with earthy tones – most specifically, oranges and pinks. 

'I'm a big advocate for red in a living space, especially when it is complemented by other warm tones. The earthy palette of reds, oranges, and pinks is just like one big cozy hug and is a softer way to introduce braver hues into your home,' King explains. 

'Decorating with red is accessible through paint... or through furnishings like sofas and cushions. Whether the red used in your living spaces adds a striking contrast to the rest of your décor or blends in beautifully with it, the introduction of red instantly gives that comforting, by-the-fire feel.'

If 2023 was the year of earthy-hued cabinets and experimentative islands, 2024 is the backsplash's time to shine – and no feature fuels this movement quite as much as the 'slab backsplash' – a luxurious, celebrity-approved alternative. 

This aptly-named feature involves using a single, continuous piece of material (usually stone or engineered quartz) to cover the entire wall space behind our countertops. We've noticed slab backsplashes in kitchens belonging to the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Stephen and Ayesha Curry – but now Zendaya's Brooklyn apartment has completed the trio, and it's one of our favorite examples to date. 

'This design choice is an exercise in simplicity and boldness, and it has rapidly gained prominence for several compelling reasons,' comments Richard Davonport, the managing director at Davonport, in his discussion of the kitchen trend. 

Zendaya's luxurious backsplash (seen on the seventh slide of the photo carousel below) works seamlessly against her wooden cabinets, and it's an incentive for us to upgrade our own space, though (sadly) we can't all enjoy a view across the East River alongside. 

As Davonport explains, the idea of a slab backsplash is leading design trends for 2024, but they also tap into a wider desire to upgrade this feature in general. 

'The latest trend sweeping across kitchen renovations is investing in an update to the backsplash,' comments Melissa Anne Klink, the creative director of Harvey Jones. 'Before, we would see clients repainting cabinets or upgrading hardware to showcase the latest trending fashions, and now the fastest impact change is swapping over the backsplash.'

Opting for a single marble-style piece like Zendaya's is one of the most luxurious ways we can get behind the trend. However, Klink explains that we don't need to overspend to give our backsplash the upgrade we crave. 

'Porcelain is perfectly at home for a backsplash with the ability to book match and control the visual engagement in the pattern. If the budget allows for marble, the backsplash is the best place to put this material with little threat of discoloration. Other popular materials like quartz and granite will also enhance the color palette and vibrancy in a space.'

Alternatively, we can upgrade the backsplash we currently have for a transformation that takes almost no time at all. 'A vibrant tile and fresh lick of paint will invigorate a fresh style,' Klink notes. If there's ever a time to take the leap, it is now.

Backsplashes aside, we can tap into Zendaya's marble x wooden kitchen aesthetic by combining these materials via these handpicked accessories below. 

The benefits of a neutral color palette are abundant, but arguably, nowhere showcases its beauty like Zendaya's Brooklyn living room. The Dune actress chose a scheme that allows the city to do almost all the talking (perks of living above the East River), but despite the somewhat distracting view, there's still some room for her accessories to take center stage. 

Being Zendaya, the actress could naturally have her pick of any furnishings, but her collection of cushions is arguably the most impactful of all. The cushions (best seen on the second slide of the photo carousel below) subtly dress Zendaya's dark living room sofa, but despite their discreetness, their rich balance in the cream room – while the striped pattern adds instant interest against the surrounding block tones. 

The room is a reminder that even the most simple accessories offer a transformative change in textures, and it's refreshingly easy to follow suit. Unsurprisingly, David Harris, the design director at Andrew Martin, agrees. 

'Adding vibrant cushions is a simple and inexpensive way to inject a bold hit of color into a neutral room,' Harris says. However, their power also extends beyond neutral spaces like Zendaya's. 

'If the room is already colorful, rather than using shades that match your existing scheme, opt for complementary hues to create a sense of cohesiveness. Choose cushions with piping in a contrasting shade as these little details draw the eye,' he explains. 'Monochrome cushions also make a statement as the absence of color can be just as striking as its presence.'

Colors aside, Harris explains that mixing patterns is another way to create a statement with our cushions. 'Don't be afraid to mix patterns – cushions are a great way to introduce pattern into a room,' he says.

'From florals and ikats to geometrics and animal motifs, there is a great deal to choose from. Combine different patterns to make a strong style statement. To avoid overwhelming a room, mix large-scale patterns with smaller-scale prints.'

The last thing to remember before we invest in new cushions? Experimenting with different textures is never a bad idea. 

'Combine different textures to add depth and create an eclectic look. Velvet is a perennial favorite for cushions because it feels luxurious, while linen has a relaxed feel. In terms of filling, feather and down allow for a plusher feel than synthetic fillings,' Harris says.

The actress shared a look inside the therapeutic backyard of her Los Angeles home – complete with lemon trees, agave plants, and a curated selection of off-white furnishings. 

While finding the best outdoor furniture depends on your personal style, Zendaya is making a solid case for minimalism with the pattern-free loungers and umbrellas that adorn her poolside. But how do design experts suggest bringing stylish minimalism into a yard?

'We recommended sticking to light colors where possible. Light-colored dining chairs, tables, and loungers often suit the spring vibe and create a fresh, clean look in the garden,' says the Danish design experts from BoConcept. They agree that 'white outdoor furniture also looks especially good in contrast to the deep greens of garden plants, shrubs, and trees.'

Through her neutral colorways, Zendaya is maintaining a Scandinavian-style aesthetic – however, as the experts say, there is more to outdoor furniture than the way they look.

'The key to great garden furniture is durability, practicality, and, of course, style,' they say. 'Metal is always a good choice for the yard because it's weather-resistant, although you might want cushions for more comfort. You could also opt for wooden garden furniture. However, it will need to be a hardwood like teak or eucalyptus to be weather-proof.'

Plus, while we're yet to see inside much of Zendaya's home, we have had a look inside her neutral bedroom – and with these spaces combined – we'd hazard a guess that her entire home is minimalistic– and the experts think so, too. But how does this impact how we style our homes?

'In order to give the indoor-outdoor flow, your garden could adopt the color scheme, style, or textures of your living room,' they say. 'Using the same accessories throughout or patterns and colors which make you feel at home.'

Whether we go minimalist like Zendaya – or you opt for more maximalist prints – the experts agree: the 'most crucial thing in creating your outdoor space is that it provides an environment in which you can truly relax.' It's the most important lesson we're following this summer.

Zendaya has a way of setting headlines in Los Angeles and London, where she spends time with her partner (and Hollywood actor) Tom Holland. However, a look inside her Brooklyn apartment shows us that the actor also has a legacy on the east coast's design scene. 

The California native, known for Spider-Man, Euphoria, and Dune – purchased a $4.9 million waterfront condo in 2021 – complete with an open-plan living room, chef’s kitchen, and views of Manhattan's skyline as standard. With its floor-to-ceiling windows and plank oak floors, the entire apartment certainly knows how to impress. However, it is the gray entryway (seen in the third photo of the carousel below) that designers love the most. And they're encouraging us to follow in Zendaya's lead.

'Having a gray entryway can offer a range of benefits. Firstly, gray is a versatile color that can complement different color schemes and design styles. Whether your home has a modern, traditional, or eclectic interior, a gray entryway can easily blend in and enhance the overall aesthetic,' says the founder of Lauren Ashley Design, Lauren Brantley.

In Zendaya's case, the space is distinctly contemporary – designed to complement her open-plan structure with the way it directly into the living space – and allows the entire floor to feel as one. 

The entryway in question features a large marble table topped with two books (you can shop for our favorite coffee table books below) and a lampshade, which is essential when styling a gray hallway. 

'Gray can enhance your entryway lighting. It acts as a natural reflector of light, bouncing light around the space and making it feel brighter and more welcoming,' Lauren says.'This can be particularly beneficial if your entryway lacks natural light sources, as gray can help create a brighter and more inviting atmosphere.'

Alongside the curated accessories, Zendaya's entryway exhibits (at least) two artworks – one of which with blue-green hues that, the designer says, is accentuated by the light gray base. 

'A gray entryway can be a neutral canvas that accentuates your décor elements,' she says. 'If you have colorful furniture, artwork, or accessories in your entryway, a gray backdrop can provide a subtle backdrop that allows those items to stand out and become visual focal points.'

And aesthetics aside, the actress' entryway color has its practical benefits, too. 'These spaces are high-traffic areas that can quickly accumulate dirt, mud, and wear over time,' Lauren explains. 

'Gray, a mid-toned color, can hide dirt and wear better than lighter colors, making it a practical choice for busy entryways requiring easy maintenance.' Because no entryway is immune from a little wear and tear, not even Zendaya's.  

Zendaya is among the most talked-about actresses of the moment – and for good reason. 

Alongside her roles in Spider Man, Euphoria, and Dune, the California-born star is a force of the fashion game – and she enjoys an international schedule to accompany her success. At the end of the day, however, Zendaya likes to rest her head in a minimalist bedroom – that we can all replicate. 

The actress shared her neutral sleep space via Instagram, where she keeps her color scheme, furnishings, and accessories simple (but simultaneously chic, of course). Complete with white luxury bedding, light brown painted walls, and a minimalist bedside table – the space is effortless and uncomplicated – but it is also timeless. And we can learn a lot from its design. 

When looking for ways to sleep better, Joanna Ross, the manager of the bedding brand Sheridan says we should search for soothing colors that are 'relaxing to be around' – much like the ones in Zendaya's bedroom. 

'Warm neutrals and pastels are the perfect starting point. Creams, gentle beiges, and soft spiced shades are perfect for relaxing bedroom ideas,' she says. 

And Certified Nutritionist Dr. Shauna Hatcher agrees – adding that the actresses' white bedding, particularly, is beneficial for sleep.

'White bedding is a fantastic choice for sleeping since, unlike vivid red and violet tones, it does not excite the brain,' she says. 'The color is neutral and has a soothing effect, so it pairs nicely with other sleep-inducing hues like yellow and blue.'.

When creating a relaxing bedroom, choosing the right bed sheets is the natural place to begin. However, Zendaya has softened her space further by adding pillows and a throw that are, once again, approved by experts. 

'When thinking about how to create a relaxing bedroom, think about the textures; for some, this means the more, the merrier, and for others, a subtle touch is preferred,' Joanna says. 'Whatever your décor preference, bringing in soft and sumptuous textiles – velvets, silks, wools, and more – adds a feeling of coziness.'

In terms of decor and accessories, this part of her bedroom is notably clutter-free – featuring only a lamp, two candles, and a small tray atop the bedside table. 

'It may sound simple, but keep your bedroom clear of clutter,' Joanna says. 'A space overwhelmed with belongings can affect anxiety levels, sleep, and the ability to focus, which is not conducive to creating a relaxing bedroom.'

Esteemed fashion designer Christian Siriano – who has dressed Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, and Zendaya (to name but a few) – has announced his bridge into the interior design world this New York Fashion Week. 

The Annapolis-born designer, who is a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, is collaborating with luxury kitchen and bathroom brand DXV – known for infusing beauty and creativity into luxury living. 

Christian Siriano designed a limited-edition bathrobe and hand towel set that pays homage to 'the opulence and glamor' of the nostalgic 1920s – shown through the intricate geometric stitching and the gold and white coloring. Inevitably, the pieces are set to dominate towel trends and serve as the must-have that every fashion enthusiast didn't know they needed until now. 

Following the announcement, Christian Siriano's models wore the robes backstage at his New York Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2023 show that took place on February 9th, and we're already looking at how to get our hands on these bathroom essentials – that Christian describes as 'wearable art.'

'It has been such a pleasure partnering with DXV, which I believe emphasizes the many parallels that can be drawn between fashion and home design as vehicles for self-expression,' Christian Siriano says.

The space in question (and the catalyst behind the collection) is the bathroom in the designers' 279-year-old home in Easton, Connecticut. 

When designing a spa bathroom, Christian Siriano was struck by  DXV’s 'elegant' pieces, with faceted edges, that celebrate the Art Deco movement from which they were modeled. Drawing inspiration from this collection, the designer's bathrobe, and hand towels boast a similar aesthetic synonymous with the 1920s.
