I enjoy cooking, and I pride myself on being a pretty decent cook, but you wouldn't know it from looking at my recent credit card statement. This summer has been particularly busy, and I've traded my home-cooked meals for takeout orders, restaurant dates, and fast food.
Now that my summer travel is nearing an end, I'm determined to get back into the swing of things. Autumn will also be busy, so to ensure I actually make use of my kitchen, I'm adding a few clever appliances and tools to my cabinets. My budget is low thanks to that pesky credit card statement, so I'm sourcing items from QVC. Here's why.
Variety
I don't have time to run from store to store, so I like that QVC offers name brands and affordable alternatives to popular items across multiple categories, all in one place. Brands such as Ninja and KitchenAid are available at competitive prices – often discounted – so I can easily get the Ninja CREAMi 7-in-1 Ice Cream Maker for smoothie bowls and ice cream or the KitchenAid Pasta Deluxe Set for fresh homemade pasta.
According to our kitchen editor, Lydia Hayman, the Ninja CREAMi is easy to use. "I can prep a base the night before – whether for ice cream, gelato, or sorbet – freeze it, then let the machine whizz it into a smooth, creamy treat the next day before my guests arrive," she says.

The constant source of entertainment and inspiration means I always find new brands and products to try.
I'm determined to make a good smash burger, and since my NYC apartment doesn't have space for a full-size grill, this portable and affordable indoor-outdoor grill is the perfect solution.
I also don't have the counter space for a giant air fryer, but I do want the convenience of a device that cooks my food quickly. My KitchenAid has seen better days, so I'm considering this upgraded version with an included pastry beater and flex edge – both perfect for holiday baking.
