Anna Last
Anna Last was formerly US Editorial Director at Homes & Gardens, where she specialised in telling stories about tastemakers, beautifully designed homes and intentional living. With a career spanning lifestyle media and retail creative, Anna has worked with leading brands including Martha Stewart, Vogue Living, Williams-Sonoma and Restoration Hardware.
Her personal style blends US East Coast influences with Australian sensibility and English charm, shaped by a childhood spent on a sheep farm and years creating interiors and brands that feel layered, stylish and deeply personal. Passionate about the beauty of everyday living, Anna is drawn to homes and spaces that feel curated yet relaxed, where thoughtful details make the greatest impact.
Outside of editorial work, Anna enjoys cooking vibrant, Ottolenghi-inspired dishes using simple ingredients, styling small corners of her home with garden-picked flowers, and spending time outdoors. Her ongoing passion project is The Old Stables – a two-acre farmhouse on Long Island’s North Fork that also serves as a vacation rental and event space. From redesigning architectural details to creating outdoor spaces inspired by her travels, Anna approaches every project with creativity, intuition and a strong sense of intention.
Her gardening inspirations include celebrated designers Paul Bangay and Piet Oudolf, as well as her grandmother, whose instinctive understanding of form, texture and color continues to influence Anna’s own aesthetic.
Alongside her former role at Homes & Gardens, Anna runs her own creative and brand consultancy and shares stories from The Old Stables – including recipes, design inspiration and ideas for effortless, beautiful living – through her Substack, From The Old Stables.
