1. Milwaukee M18 Backpack Blower
Calling the tools he needs his 'toys,' Jonathan kicks off his yardwork with a Milwaukee M18 Backpack Leaf Blower (at Amazon) to clean up his green space. The easy-carry, easy-use tool allows for extra precision and ease of use when keeping a backyard free from debris.
Here's Jonathan's pick, plus a few of the Homes & Gardens' team's favorite easy-to-use leaf blowers.
This motorless backpack provides an impressive blowing force in any easy-to-transport package. The adjustable harness provibes comfort for extended use.
The thin, upward-curving nozzle on this leaf blower is great for directing leaves. At nearly 1/3 the cost of Jonathan's recommendation, it's great for if you have a small yard or just want a more budget-friendly alternative.
This EGO blower is recommended by experts as one of the best cordless blowers, making it as easy to carry as Jonathan's suggestion. It's lightweight and does a great job at clearing leaves.
2. Kress EyePilot RTKn Robotic Lawn Mower
'Enough playing around,' Jonathan jokes from the table at his and Zooey Deschanel's stylish gazebo. 'It's now time to cut the lawn. Sorry, forgot to tell you I can literally cut the lawn from sitting here, sitting in my bedroom, doing whatever,' he explains, controlling his Kress Robot Lawnmower (available at Kress) with his phone.
'It's like a Roomba for your lawn,' he jokes. Though robot lawn mowers are controversial among garden experts, there is no arguing that they save manpower. Below, find Jonathan's choice, plus a few team favorites.
Available in several different sizes based on your lawn acreage, this sporty mower is Jonathan Scott's favorite tool to run while relaxing. It has a built-in obstacle avoidance system, so you can be very hands-off.
This Husqvarna model offers an excellent robot mower at a fair price. It's quiet and you can control it with smart speakers like Alexa.
Worx's Landroid range is as affordable as robot mowers get before they stop giving a good cut. This is a a great mower for the money, and it's a great alternative for those who want to try out Jonathan's technique at a lower price point.
3. Genie Scissor Lift GS-1930
Finally, Jonathan has an arborist-level Genie GS 1930 Scissor Lift (like this one from Amazon) in his garage. 'Not gonna lie, it's just fun to go up and down,' he says, bouncing both ways on the machine. Need anything up high done? I can come over with this.'

Thanks Jonathan, we'll keep that in mind next time we need the trees trimmed. Though most people don't need this industrial level of tools at their home, it's a reminder that if yardwork is one of your favorite activities, it can be worth investing in machines that make it fun for you.
Whether its a great leaf blower or just a high quality shovel set, Jonathan makes us think of the importance of investing in the right tools for the tasks you do every week. A robot lawn mower has never looked so tempting.
