Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato’s Red-and-Silver Christmas Tree Is a Testament to the Timeless Allure of Holiday Traditions
In their Burnaby, British Columbia, estate, the pair opted for a traditional crimson and metallic palette designed to outlast any trend
Come November, you are likely going to hear one voice above all else on your radio. Michael Bublé is as synonymous with the season as red, white, and gold decor, so it is only fitting, therefore, that his tree follows this aesthetic.
Michael first shared the decor in his British Columbia living room, where he lives with his wife, actress Luisana Lopilato, in 2023. Three years later, it is, unsurprisingly, just as timeless.
The couple chose a clean mix of oversized crimson ornaments, silver globes, and white netting woven through the branches. For anyone scouting the best places to buy Christmas decorations this winter, the look proves that curating a setup around timeless holiday shades carries far more staying power than chasing fleeting themes.

Red and green are as classic as Christmas decorations get, but the matte finish gives them a slightly more modern feel. They're a beautiful way to bring tradition to the tree without making it look overdone, much like Michael and Luisana's.
Michael and Luisana give their tree a different finish with a gold wire-mesh garland instead of the usual ribbon. It winds through the branches, adding texture and extra shine without detracting from the red-and-green decorations.
Michael's tree makes a case for going bigger with your baubles, and these oversized red ornaments are a good place to start. They master that classic color combination without needing lots of smaller decorations
The red bow gives this traditional green garland a lovely festive finish without needing much else. Its natural-looking foliage makes it easy to exhibit along a mantel, staircase, or down the center of the Christmas table.
The gold finish and soft white glow give this star a similar look to the one on Michael's tree. It's a classic choice that won't feel tied to one particular Christmas trend, so you can bring it out year after year.
Michael carries the red from his Christmas tree through to the living room, with a red throw draped over the sofa. It's an easy way to continue this scheme into the rest of the room while making the sofa cozier for winter evenings.
Interior designer and owner of Villa Sartiano, Caroline Montague follows this same ideology. She explains that a heritage palette offers both aesthetic balance and sentimental value.
'I have always preferred traditional Christmas decorations. There is something rather special about bringing out the same decorations year after year; they become part of your family's Christmas traditions and hold so many memories,' she says.
'Traditional colors and decorations have an enduring quality that you don't necessarily get with passing trends. I like to stick to a particular color scheme, and I don't like too many colors competing with one another, as I think it can make a room feel rather messy. My own Christmas scheme is green, red and gold, which I bring out every year. It feels festive, but also timeless.'
Caroline notes that this disciplined approach is particularly effective when dressing the central tree: 'When it comes to the Christmas tree, they look much more elegant when you have a considered color scheme rather than lots of different colors and decorations competing for attention, she says.

'Green, red, and gold are such classic Christmas colors, and they work beautifully together. The green of the tree provides a natural backdrop, while the red and gold bring warmth and a little sparkle.'
As one could only hope for Michael's tree, this arrangement is truly timeless. It's proof that some color schemes will look just as good decades down the line.
