Donatella Versace's pink and pearlescent tree ornaments show how sophisticated glitter can be – it's fun but impeccably stylish
The designer struck a balance between playful yet chic Christmas decorations – and her palette will look just as beautiful next December

No time allows us to get playful with our decor quite like holidays, but how do we maintain our home's style over this time? Nobody strikes this balance quite like Donatella Versace.
The designer's Christmas tree has an overriding pink, purple, and pearlescent color scheme – best exhibited through her abundant ornaments that feel feminine against the natural green branches. The Christmas tree feels luxurious and doesn't look out of place in the neutral, mirrored living room – showing us that it's possible to get playful with decor without sacrificing our home's overall style. Ola Jordan, an interior designer at EZ Living Furniture, agrees.
'Many people shy away from traditional Christmas colors in a minimalist home, thinking it will clash with their aesthetic. But trust me, with a little creativity, you can create a festive atmosphere that feels both stylish and sophisticated,' Jordan says.

Silver is the perfect accompaniment to pink, and these pearly, slightly champagne-hued pieces are among the best on the market. They'll be sure to impress year after year and work well if you're looking to blend a gold and silver scheme together.
This glittering pink set offers the Donatella Versace aesthetic in one easy buy. The combination of shiny, sparkly ornaments works in harmony on any tree – creating a refined look that doesn't take itself too seriously.
This set of pink flowers features poinsettias, ball ornaments, artificial glitter berry stems, snowflakes, and icicle drop crystal ornaments. They add instant rosy flair to any colored tree, alongside more pink and pearlescent ornaments, wherever possible.
According to Jordan, pink is among the best colors you can choose in a neutral living room – especially when paired with metallic accents, as Versace demonstrates.
'While we’re focusing on a neutral palette, that doesn’t mean you can't introduce subtle hints of color. Instead of traditional red and green, consider incorporating shades of blush pink, soft grey, or deep burgundy. These colors complement a black-and-white scheme beautifully, adding a touch of warmth and sophistication,' she explains.
'Introducing metallic accents is a wonderful way to add a touch of festive sparkle to a neutral palette. Silver, gold, and copper tones work beautifully in a black-and-white space, creating a sense of understated glamour. Think shimmering baubles, metallic candle holders, or a decorative tray with a mirrored finish.'
Beyond the tree, Jordan explains you can maintain a chic home over Christmas by layering textures. This is important in every space, but none more so than a neutral room. 'Think of layers of natural materials like wool, linen, sheepskin, and wood. A chunky knit throw draped over a sofa, a sheepskin rug warming the floor, and a collection of wooden candle holders on the mantelpiece – these elements add warmth and visual interest without relying on color.'
