Inside Jennifer Aniston's impressive property portfolio – from a New York condo to a A. Quincy Jones-designed Bel Air mansion
The Friends actress is best associated with her on-screen Manhattan apartment – but in reality, her collection of homes is (arguably) even more iconic

Jennifer Aniston may play one of New York's most fashionable characters, but while Rachel Green is synonymous with Manhattan, Jennifer typically lives on the West Coast.
Over the last two decades, the actress has bought, sold, and rented a series of notable properties, spanning the Beverly Hills home she owned with Brad Pitt, to the Montecito farmhouse she purchased from none other than Oprah Winfrey.
Here on the Homes & Gardens celebrity style team, we've spent the last few months enjoying glimpses of Jennifer's impeccably designed interiors and gardens, courtesy of celebrity-trusted designer Stephen Shadley.
Stephen has worked with Jennifer on several of her homes, including her mid-century modern mansion, designed by renowned architect A. Quincy Jones, where she currently resides. It felt only right, therefore, to delve into the homes that made the actress who she is today. Let's take a look, shall we?
1. The 'Crown Jewel,' Los Angeles

While Jennifer was rising to fame in her early Friends years, she was renting a home, named the Crown Jewel, overlooking Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles. The four-structure compound, built in 1936, epitomizes a California cool style – from its soft neutral color scheme to its unique pool and outdoor hosting area.

Alongside playing host to Jennifer in her early career, this hilltop home has attracted several other Hollywood figures, including Academy Award–winning cinematographer Néstor Almendros and actor Beach Dickerson.
2. Normandy-style estate, Beverly Hills
Following her marriage to Brad Pitt, Jennifer co-purchased a $12.5 million mansion, designed by architect Edwin Wallace Neff. The French-inspired estate, with roots in the 1930s, became the couple's design canvas. They spent three years renovating the home, incorporating a tennis court, a pub-style bar area (with authentic flooring from a French château), a film room, and an additional guesthouse.

After Jennifer and Brad divorced in 2005, the couple sold the home for $28 million.
3. Beach house, Malibu
Next, Jennifer reportedly rented a cozy bungalow on the fringe of the ocean in Malibu – a tribute to her love for the California coast. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the actress thought the home was 'dark and depressing' when she first moved in, but a 'quickie makeover' allowed her to create a space where she felt happier.
4. West Village penthouse, New York

Jennifer Aniston's property portfolio is almost entirely West Coast-based, with the exception of the West Village condo (or, rather, two condos – one on the 17th floor – and one on the 18th), which she purchased for $7.01 million in 2011.
The actress initially aimed to combine the two units to design a larger 2,000-square-foot home. However, she sold them one year later, reportedly due to concerns about paparazzi privacy. Andy Cohen later bought the apartment in 2022, and still lives there to this day.
5. Quincy Jones-designed home, Bel Air
Created by the celebrated Los Angeles architect A. Quincy Jones, Jennifer Aniston's Bel Air mansion features a sleek wooden façade with a striking modernist aesthetic. While the exterior is something to behold, the interiors (designed by the aforementioned Stephen Shadley) and Japanese-inspired gardens are just as noteworthy.

Inside the home, Jennifer enjoys sleek, mid-century modern design that continually blurs the lines between her indoor and outdoor spaces. Jennifer Aniston's garden bathroom (seen below) is the perfect example of this.
Here, her exterior is an extension of her house, and the bathtub is the perfect place from which to view the surrounding landscape and contemplate its meaning, just as garden designer Marcello Villano intended.

Broad and shallow, this beautiful piece graces everything from bathroom countertops to built-ins with an elevated feel and intentional function. Designed with bold gray marbling and clean, straightforward lines, it's the perfect accent for your decorative vignettes.
This slatted design provides a non-slip surface to dry off when stepping out of a fresh, relaxing shower. It's a spa-bathroom must-have, whether you have a Jennifer-inspired sinking tub or not.
Japanese holly makes an excellent box substitute hedges. Although it has no berries, this holly can be pruned into all sorts of shapes – great for adding structure and privacy to your borders.
6. Tuscan-style home, Montecito
Despite keeping her Bel Air home, Jennifer's most recent purchase came in the shape of a Montecito farmhouse, purchased from Oprah Winfrey. The actress joins a host of other celebrities enjoying some of the world's best homes in this exclusive town. Other notable residents include Ariana Grande, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Meghan Markle.
Little else is known about the home, but it is close to the ocean and features mountain views, multiple terraces, and landscaped gardens, which we have already come to expect from the star.
