Every year, no matter what, I'm always met with the same problem: where to house my Christmas cards. My designated spot for Christmas mail is my mantel, but it doesn't take long for the area to fill up with the many cards I receive from friends and family during this time of year.

Determined to rethink my usual card display (and let my mantel breathe a little), I'm on the hunt for inventive ways to arrange my Christmas cards, so each and every one can be enjoyed. And of course, homemaker Martha Stewart has just the trick I need.

In her tutorial, Martha provides three festive looks for hanging cards that couldn't be easier to try at home. She says, 'Welcome to my craft room. We're having a lot of fun decorating for the holidays. One of my very, very favorite things is the great number of cards I receive in the mail – but what to do with all the cards?'

Shop the Look

Martha's three Christmas card looks are festive yet refreshingly easy. Whether you're hanging your cards along a lush garland or designing a playful wall of cards shaped like a tree, you can recreate all these ideas within a matter of minutes.

Martha starts her first Christmas decor idea with a Christmas tree card display. She describes it as, 'A wall Christmas tree made out of cards.'

She explains, 'You'll need some little sticky dots on the corners, and this will hold the card securely.' Martha sticks her card to the wall, adding one to the top of the design to finish it off. When recreating the look at home, start with four cards at the bottom, then a layer of three, and so forth. She adds, 'For the trunk of the tree, take one of the envelopes, fold it inside out, use some scotch tape to keep it closed, and again four dots in the corners of the back and center the trunk.'

To finish the look, Martha adds an adhesive star to the top of the card tree. She says, 'A Christmas card tree – very easy to make and really great to look at.'

For the next look, Martha displays her cards in a silver card holder much like this Christmas Card Holder Wall Display from Amazon. She says, 'It is a fantastic device.'

Her last look revolves around a garland. Using clothespins and sparkly ribbon, Martha places double-stick tape along the entire length of the ribbon. Starting at the clip end, she brings the ribbon all the way around the peg so it's fully covered in glittery ribbon. 'There you have a golden clothespin. Just clip this onto your garland.'

Martha's three looks couldn't be easier to put together and are all festive yet stylish. Whether you're creating a tree-shaped card display or simply using a card holder, like Martha says, 'They are three great ways to view your Christmas cards all season long.'
