That combination is central to her approach to homeware, and it is especially clear in her cream upholstered accent chair, which stands out as one of the most versatile pieces in her collection.

When it comes to accessories, Connellan suggests keeping arrangements simple while focusing on texture and proportion. 'Or add height or white hydrangeas that bring a wonderful freshness to a neutral scheme,' she says.
'Every room needs cushions and throws; they add a wonderful layering quality. Layering cushions in different sizes with different patterns and textures looks less formal than cushions in all the same size, print, and fabric. Throws add further cosiness and can often break up expanses of block color.'
