As we move away from beige, quiet luxury Christmas decor, bolder and brighter ornamentation has made a comeback. Rich tones of navy, green, and red are filling up our Pinterest boards, with aesthetics like Ralph Lauren and Classic Christmas dominating the discourse. However, this doesn't mean these traditional looks are the only way to tap into bolder Christmas decor.

Paris Hilton highlights one of the many ways to inject color into a Christmas Tree decor idea with her pink and purple evergreen. The design was put together by the talented team at Oneira for Christmas 2024. It is outfitted with purple lights, pink ornament garlands, and large pink ball ornaments. It's a vision of color and cheer, in the least traditional style popular.

Tristan Sissons, Christmas Buyer at Hillier, explains: 'Colorful Christmas injects fun and vibrancy into festive decorating. This trend celebrates bold color at its brightest, with hot pinks, purples, teals, and golds taking centre stage.'

Recreate Paris's Look at Home

This color palette is popular for Christmas 2025 for the same reason as the Ralph Lauren Christmas Aesthetic; it taps into the nostalgia and joy of childhood holidays. As opposed to stark decor that prioritizes design, this look combines an interest in decor with experience. For instance, it's impossible not to experience a feeling of whimsy and magic looking at Paris Hilton's tree.

Tristan explains how to tap into her look, stating: 'Playful characters bring a sense of nostalgia, from retro robots and disco ball Santas to roller skates and sweet inspired baubles, making this a theme that appeals to both children and adults with a sense of fun. Tree décor is unapologetically maximalist – oversized baubles, glittering garlands and sparkling ornaments layered together to create a joyful statement.'

He continues: 'Touches of Classic Christmas are still present in shapes like nutcrackers and traditional figures, but given a lively, technicolour twist. Colourful Christmas is designed to make people smile, filling the home with energy, laughter and festive fun.'

When it comes to decorating for the holidays, the sky is the limit. Trends don't need to limit us to a single aesthetic, and instead can open the door to more imaginative ways of thinking about existing looks. Paris Hilton's pink and purple tree is the perfect example.
