I never thought I'd revive this 17th-century design trend in my bedroom – until Trisha Yearwood designed the perfect nightstand (for under $450)
Trisha's white, spool nightstand provides both compact storage and elevated style thanks to its chic bobbin-designed legs

It's a good time to be a bobbin furniture-lover. The 17th-century design trend never really left, but in 2025, it's making waves from the living room to the kitchen to the bedroom.
When it comes to the latter, we found a piece that seems too good to be true: a timeless, white nightstand (available at Wayfair) with spool legs at a fraction of its original cost, courtesy of the Trisha Yearwood Wayfair collection.
The stand is compact yet impactful, with a crescent base, a small storage drawer, and a low-profile storage shelf. Simply put, it checks all the boxes for function and style.
According to experts, bobbin furniture continues to make waves in interiors for good reason, as it has a vintage-yet-contemporary feel.
'Spool furniture has a wonderfully nostalgic charm that continues to resonate in both traditional and contemporary spaces,' explains Jolyon Allpress, owner and company director at Jo Alexander.
'Its distinctive bulbous wood detailing has an ornamental quality that has a charm, both heritage and playful. Historically, spool furniture dates back to the 17th century, gaining popularity in European and American design. The intricate turning was originally a show of craftsmanship, and it became a recognisable feature in early colonial furniture.'
Jolyon continues, 'What’s so lovely about spool furniture is its versatility. While it naturally suits country-style or cottagecore interiors, where it brings a sense of time-worn elegance, it also blends beautifully into more modern settings. A spool-legged chair or side table can offer a striking contrast in a minimalist room, adding texture and visual interest without overwhelming the space.'

This accent chair embodies both sophistication and practicality. It features a solid wood frame, plush upholstery, and exquisite turned-wood front legs for a spool-style aesthetic.
Metal and wood create an elegant pairing, which is why I love the simple touch of the brass knob on the drawer of this nightstand. Extra closed storage is always a plus.
Elevate your bedroom with the on-trend allure of this bobbin bed. Crafted from solid wood, its low-profile design nails modern sophistication, while the rich wood finish adds warmth.
