She’s, famously, Gwyneth Paltrow’s interior designer and the mind behind that airily organic, enveloping Montecito home. This fall, she’s the genius behind your living room, too.
Brigette recently joined Joss & Main’s inaugural Designer Collective, which taps an equally starry roster of talents, including Jennifer Fisher, Camille Styles, and Nina Takesh, to pluck their favorite decor finds. It’s a big deal because, if you’re at all familiar with the decorative heaven that is Joss & Main, virtually any aesthetic, style, or silhouette is your oyster. Out of thousands of options, Brigette picked 30.
One wonders what makes the Romanek cut. What silhouettes does she reach for? Which materials? Will we see fall's buzziest colorways, or is she keeping the classics? Hence the magic of this curatorial series. With all the optionality in the world, Brigette brought her signature ‘high, low, and full of soul’ style to life through a surprising mix of pedigrees, eras, and influences. A ’70s-style geometric chenille sofa gets grounded by a hand-knotted Oriental rug, then punctuated by an asymmetrical marble side table. ‘Two pieces can come from completely different eras, have opposing shapes, or be made by people who would never otherwise share the same room – and somehow, they understand each other,' says Brigette.
