I’ll say it: I like nice things. I always have. It’s a fact I (and my poor mother) discovered at Macy’s, where, long before I could read a price tag, I’d unfailingly reach for the most expensive shoe. Some things never change. I might not be shopping for a back-to-school wardrobe anymore, but I am shopping for my apartment’s fall facelift: a Nambé mid-century-meets-equestrian ice bucket to chill bubbly, 500-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, a Le Creuset Dutch oven in the Riviera colorway my collection is still missing, and a ruched amber velvet ottoman that just so happens to match the hobo bag I bought last week.
