Cozy classics, characterful storage, and a fresh lineup of spooky-season must-haves have me counting down to October

It may only be August, but IKEA’s new fall 2026 collection – and the two pumpkin-scented candles I've already burned through – say autumn is officially here. This year, the storage is richer, the spooks more stylish, and the tabletop decidedly more Arts and Crafts than ever.

For fall with a capital F, look no further than HÖSTAGILLE, a feel-good lineup of all our decorating vices: wreaths of fiery foliage, picnic blanket-worthy placemats, and candelabras to dish some dinnertime drama. Meanwhile, boo! Halloween has definitely arrived by way of KUSTFYR, which, in true blue lagom fashion, is more charming than chilling. Cartoon bats, cats, and ghosts bring a touch of mischief to the front door, dining table, and backyard.

New furniture forays, with one notable exception (the low-slung green inflatable PS 2026 Chair, which looks like Le Corbusier took a trip to the moon), borrow all the charm of antiques. Framed fronts, profiled edges, and brass-effect handles make the FÅGELFJÄLLET bedroom series feel refreshingly rich for the Swedish retailer.

IKEA may have just confirmed your Thanksgiving tablescape months ahead of schedule. On the menu: oxblood with a side of lilac.

Nostalgic bed linens follow suit. Expect deep green duvet covers scattered with wildflowers, alongside reversible striped cotton-jute cushions that add warmth and texture in equal measure. Still, if there’s one collection destined to move the needle, it’s VARPTROSS, whose airy bamboo slats appear across pendants, sconces, table lights, and floor lamps, casting an ambery glow that makes every corner – and everyone – look better.

If summer was the season for stripping back, IKEA’s fall 2026 collection is a reunion with character. These are the 24 fall decor pieces I’m eyeing as a style editor.
