This Cult-Favorite 90s Material Is Making Tables Far More Interesting – Shop 16 Chic Resin Finds for Summer 2026
Think mesmerizing swirls, sculptural forms, and punchy color plays that marble wouldn't dare to dream of
When Italian artist Gaetano Pesce fell in love with resin’s endless potential for shape and color (essentially a creative’s dream), it was radical. His iconic Fish Design collection, spanning surrealist clocks, placemats, coffee tables, and frames, helped pioneer the material’s design cred throughout the '90s. Two years after the artist’s passing, those same liquid-like forms feel every bit as fresh on the table for summer 2026.
You can still shop Pesce’s originals through galleries and design destinations like Artemest, but a new generation of brands is bringing resin to a wider audience. Blue Pheasant, for one, is embracing the material’s playful tendencies with swirled champagne buckets, chip-and-dip bowls, and one lean, mean Lazy Susan. Elsewhere, Ferm Living and CB2 are catering to the minimalists among us, using resin as a more affordable (and arguably more interesting) alternative to marble.
The thing about resin is that you never quite know what you’re going to get, which is more than half the fun. Whether you’re looking to make a splash while entertaining this summer or simply wake up a sleepy pantry, these 16 pieces never fail to surprise, delight, or start a conversation.
