IKEA's 2-in-1 Chic Plant Stand is The Perfect Way To Zone a Balcony or Small Yard – And it Creates Instant Privacy
The contemporary design is ideal for urban spaces
There are two things I want from my patio furniture this summer. Items that can serve more than one purpose, and planters or pots that will zone my space beautifully, helping me create a sense of privacy and enclosure.
The IKEA VISINGSÖ plant stand ticks these boxes and also happens to look effortlessly chic, too. And at $59.99 it would give a balcony or small, urban yard a glow-up worthy of a boutique hotel.
The deep green color gives it a sophisticated feel, whilst the metal material is not only durable, but adds a modern, industrial edge. I could imagine styling several of these planters together to subtly zone a dining or seating area with my favorite plants.
How To Style The VISINGSÖ Planter
I love a garden purchase that works effortlessly hard for you. By positioning this plant stand at the side of a seating area, it not only softens the space once greenery is added, it also divides and zones the space, making it feel instantly more inviting.
The VISINGSÖ Plant Stand could house three to four large plants on the shelf, depending on the size of your pots, making it ideal for creating privacy in a small space. Especially if you opted for tall plants, such as verbena bonariensis, or verbascum, available from Burpee.
It would work equally well styled with tropical houseplants, such as a monstera, available from The Sill, and parlour palm, with a pothos trailing down the sides for balance.
What I love about the metal design is that even though it is a modern, geometric shape, the grid material makes it feel airy and does not completely block off a space.

It also needs very little maintenance, and its durability means I wouldn't have to worry about leaving it outside in the rain.
This plant stand is also a surprisingly low price at less than $60, and looks a lot more expensive. The elegant deep green shade will blend easily with your choice of plants, and create depth without taking up much space at all.
Another huge plus point is you could easily style this with your houseplants indoors or within a greenhouse.

Another 2-in-1 IKEA find, this stand also doubles as a raised bed, with a unique grid feature for placing plants.
Solar lights are another simple, instant way to make your small outside space look chic and expensive without investing a lot. These ALDI designer-look solar lights are a gorgeous example and tap into the Americana trend.
