Since the transition from spring to summer I've been working on my summer table decor ideas to make sure that I'm dinner party ready – which is why discovering Net-A-Porter's Italian-inspired tableware has been an absolute gift, and I'm so glad I've stumbled across it before the season is out.

I'm a firm believer that the classic Italian look fits with almost any design style. Whether you're loyal to minimalist neutrals or you can't resist a playful print, you'll find a range of ideas in Net-A-Porter's Italian tablescape edit, including dainty glasses, bold table linens, and statement serveware – and I love that how the modernist pieces mix seamlessly with classic, vintage-inspired accessories.

'The Italian table has always been a space for gathering and celebration,' designer Natalia Criado tells the Net-A-Porter team. 'Everything revolves around effortless enjoyment. That’s why styling an Italian-inspired tablescape isn’t about perfection – it’s about warmth, character, and intentional detail.'

To me, the Italian tablescape calls to mind vibrant glassware, hand-painted ceramics, and crisp linens – alongside plenty of glorious food, of course. I've been perfecting my summer pasta recipes in readiness to serve with these gorgeous pieces.

'I’d naturally include some kind of fresh produce, like big piles of grapes, tomatoes or figs, depending on the color palette,' explains Isabelle Buckland, creative director of event design and culinary studio Tables, while J.J. Martin, founder of La DoubleJ, emphasizes 'printed porcelains and colored Murano glassware. From there, you can either decide to go more minimal with an all-white table or go maximalist by layering on colored and patterned linens or lots of colorful flowers.'
