Andrew Martin and Sophie Paterson launch stunning fabrics collections
The Andrew Martin and Sophie Paterson Salento fabric collection is inspired by the rustic yet sophisticated Italian region...
You can't fail to be wowed by the natural beauty of Puglia in Italy. And now you can dress your home with stylish home decor pieces that have been inspired by the area itself.
Following on from the Brindisi collection, Andrew Martin has collaborated with Sophie Paterson to create Salento - 42 fabric designs and six different fringing options inspired by the towering limestone cliffs, paradisiacal beaches and whitewashed rustic villages of Salento’s historic, sunkissed landscape.
Caught between the Adriatic and Ionian Sea, Salento’s Hellenic past and relaxed modern sophistication is captured in the array of tranquil and calming fabrics.

'Drawing inspiration from the rustic charm of southern Italy, the collaboration mixes Andrew Martin’s adventurous traveller spirit with the cool elegance and effortless sophistication of Sophie Paterson Interiors,' explains Martin Waller, Founder of Andrew Martin.
With colourways reminiscent of weathered limestone buildings, dusty olive groves or freshly-baked focaccia, a base of neutral sandy tones is given depth from accent colours such as tan, celadon and dusty pink. This gives the collection a timeless quality that can easily be incorporated into any interiors scheme.
Sophie Paterson says: 'The fabrics are all very tactile and have great textural contrasts – beautiful printed linens against velvets and weaves with a mix of different brush fringe trims and glamorous piping options.
'It’s about understated luxury with an earthy grounded aesthetic. I didn’t want to do anything glitzy but something that aligns with my personal taste - rustic chic meets contemporary classic. These cushions are a great way to update your interior with subtle colour and pattern and will instantly lift your sofa or bed.'

Loose rustic weaves sit alongside luxurious velvets and textured herringbones, whilst graphic batik and ikat linen prints replicate shadows cast across the peninsula’s sparking white buildings.
Take a stroll through the pretty piazzas and dainty archways of Apulia’s medieval towns and sea front forts, as whitewashed houses and narrow lanes lead you through the inspiration behind the collection's color palette. Simple and elegant sandy tones blend with shadowy greys and chalky whites that combine perfectly with the metallic sheen of Taranto to bring some Mediterranean serenity and grandeur to your very own palazzo.
The Salento collection represents a countryside that is just waiting to be explored, before sprawling on a sun lounger and relishing in the delicious sea breeze.
