Summer is quickly approaching, so I've been preparing my home for the new season. While seasonal resets often focus on decorating the inside of your home, summer is the time of year when your outdoor space truly comes to life, making it all the more important for it to feel like a seamless extension of your living space. Whether you're returning from vacation and hoping to bring that relaxed resort feeling home with you, or simply want to make it feel like you're having a staycation right in your own backyard, a few thoughtful upgrades can completely transform the atmosphere of your outdoor area.
This season, I've been taking inspiration from boutique hotels and elevated resort spaces, focusing on pieces that make my backyard feel more inviting, comfortable, and design-forward. From upgraded patio seating and poolside loungers to statement decor pieces and stylish accents, my outdoor space is already beginning to feel like a personal retreat that I can't wait to spend time in all summer long.
Wayfair has been my go-to source for everything I need for this transformation. Between its incredibly expansive selection and abundance of sale prices, it's become my one-stop shop for creating an outdoor setup that feels ready for the season ahead. Read on to discover 16 pieces I'm currently loving to refresh your backyard this summer.
Upscale Patio Seating
Summer is the season of gathering, and thoughtfully designed patio seating sets the tone for outdoor entertaining. These pieces bring a refined, resort-inspired feel to your space, creating the kind of atmosphere you'd expect from a boutique hotel.
Poolside Upgrades
Nothing says summer quite like a well-styled poolside setup. From comfortable loungers and chic umbrellas to luxe storage pieces that keep towels and essentials neatly tucked away, these finds make any outdoor space feel more polished and functional.
Decor Accents
Decor accents are where an outdoor space really begins to feel personalized. Outdoor pillows, table lamps, patio rugs, and other finishing touches add warmth, texture, and character to your backyard.
Statement Planters
Statement planters are an easy way to make an outdoor space feel more styled and inviting. These eye-catching pieces make it simple to incorporate some much-needed greenery, adding color and a sense of life that instantly transforms the atmosphere of your home.
