One of the most tiring fall garden jobs is having to constantly clear leaves and repeatedly bend your back while doing so. That's why I'm upgrading my standard leaf rake this year for something much more convenient: a leak grabber rake.

It's one of the best leaf-clearing tools as it saves having to bend down and clears large areas of the garden quickly. This Amazon leaf grabber rake is the perfect example. It has long handles that open to scoop up leaves. The claw itself is larger in size so you can clear any garden space in just a few scoops.

For me, the fact it makes fall garden maintenance a lot less strenuous makes it an obvious upgrade to invest in – it could save me hours each week over the next couple of months.

What Shoppers Say

The Amazon leaf grabber rake has 4.2 stars from reviewers who say it's saved them a lot of time and difficulty in clearing up fallen leaves.

'This rake is so practical and useful,' says one five-star reviewer. 'I just put a 33-39 gallon leaf bag in a garbage can and use this rake to fill the bag without having to bend at all. It is such a simple tool with such extraordinary benefits. This rake picks up a lot of debris at a time,' they continue.

'I was skeptical at first, but this item is so helpful. Lightweight, very easy to use and picks up a very good amount of debris. I trimmed my bushes and it picked it up nicely,' another shopper describes.

The secure claw of the grabber rake makes it ideal for tackling multiple items on the fall gardening checklist. It's also only 3.3lbs in weight, making it easy to manoeuvre and use, especially alongside the ergonomic handle design.

The one thing to be wary of, it seems, is the assembly of the Amazon leaf grabber rake.

'Easy to assemble but the screw that holds the handles always needs tightening as it comes loose with usage,' one reviewer writes.

Nevertheless, shoppers note this is something that can be resolved with a locknut (which you can pick up on Amazon).

While a bit more expensive than a standard leaf rake at $39.99, there's no doubt the fact the Amazon leaf grabber rake acts as a scoop makes it an upgrade. Even if you use a cheaper hand leaf scoop (like these $10.69 ones from Walmart) you still need to bend your back to pick up the leaves – with the long handles on the Amazon leaf grabber rake, you don't have to.

Pair it with a garden waste bag (like this collapsible garden bag from Amazon) and you can gather leaves with ease through fall to make leaf mulch.

What to Shop

While it is important to clear leaves where they're causing a hazard in the yard, take care not to over-tidy your yard in fall. Removing all fallen leaves and plant debris can remove vital shelter for garden wildlife over winter.
