Ask any artist to tell you where they shop for at-home artistry and crafting essentials, and there's a strong chance they'll all say the same place: Michaels. It's the mecca of creativity; a craftsperson's dreamworld. So when potter and designer Jonathan Adler joined forces with Michaels to launch a collection of his own, it was more than an organic collaboration. It was a match made in heaven.
'I’m a craftsperson first and foremost, and Michaels is the center of craft, creativity, and color. Viola – enter the perfect partnership,' Jonathan remarks of the union. Together, he and the Michaels team created a collection that's expressive, design-led, and reflective of the growing trend to embrace personality in interiors.
Vibrant colors and bold patterns set the scene, while an underlying mood of irreverent elegance gives the collection its dose of excitement. It's brimming with all sorts of home decor pieces like vases, wall art, plates, and games, and there are even crafting kits for those who'd like to take after Adler himself and express their inner artist.

The collection is brimming with decor in vibrant colors and whimsical patterns – perfect for adding personality to any room in your home.
Even though this collection is brand new, in a way, it feels familiar. That's because everything Jonathan designs adheres to his signature 'Modern American Glamour' aesthetic. Jonathan breaks down this look: ''modern' because I design everything through my own contemporary filter. 'American' because my work is optimistic, which feels totally American. 'Glamour' because everything has to be glamorous,' the designer explains.
You'll notice this aesthetic in the vibrancy, contemporary flair, and luxurious undertone that the collection has to offer. Instantly recognizable and immediately iconic, that's simply the Jonathan Adler way.
There are even some ties to the designer's past work within this collection, too. 'I never say no to the opportunity to revisit some of my favorite prints, patterns, and colors,' the designer tells Homes & Gardens. 'Black and white? An always combination. Greek Key? As good today in Anaheim as it was in ancient Athens. Supergraphics? They’re called “super” for a reason!'
If some pieces look familiar, that's because Jonathan dove into his brand's archives and revisited some of his most-known patterns to create this collection with Michaels.
There's so much to love from this collection, from party supplies that can transform summer tablescapes to graphic throw pillows that can make your couch look like it's brand new.

Jonathan calls attention to the games within the collection, too. 'I’m crazy for the party supplies and outdoor games – it turns out I’m crazy good at corn hole,' he quips. As a bonus, each of these party games are so stylishly designed that they can double as decor when not in use.
If you are a craft lover, Jonathan has designed craft kits exclusively for Michaels – like the paint-by-number kits and the bead embroidery kits. 'I am so excited to give every creator the tools they need to express their own personalities, and I can’t wait to see what folks come up with,' Jonathan remarks.
Jonathan Adler's exclusive craft kits allow you to be the designer. Consider it the perfect weekend afternoon activity.
Jonathan Adler's Michaels collection is brimming with colorful creations in playful silhouettes – all of which hold the capacity to give your home the personality it so deserves. 'Even the smallest object can completely shift the mood of the room,' Jonathan explains of this collection's assortment.
