With growing concerns around air quality, it comes as no surprise that air purifiers are becoming a household staple for people across the world.

These sophisticated machines pull contaminants out of the air – whether allergens, viruses, gases, or smoke – and remove them from the air we breathe. This is vital for our humble human wellbeing, while also making our homes feel fresh and free of odors.

To solve this once and for all, global smart home brand Dreame has just released their most advanced purifier yet, and it’s a step-up from the best air purifiers that you might be familiar with. I’ve been testing air purifiers for two years now, and I’m thrilled to see the technology develop in this new direction.

The Dreame AirPursue PM20 is more than just an air purifier

Typically, air purifiers are relatively compact devices, pulling in air from around them, trapping the contaminants, then releasing clean air back into your space. But the Dreame AirPursue PM20 goes a step further with temperature control, dual airflows, robust air purification speed, and even the ability to sense when humans are nearby. I may be a tech nerd, but I cannot wait to get my hands on one.

It focuses directly on you

Instead of turning on the purifier each time you want to improve your air quality, the Dreame AirPursue PM20 has a new, unique feature: Enviro Detect Technology. It senses when you’re nearby and automatically powers on. And not only that, it directs purified air in your direction, and if there are multiple people in the room, it’ll sweep from left to right, making sure everybody feels the benefits, all while saving energy when you leave.

This is a huge development for air purification tech, which until now has only really been ambient, working in the background in the hopes that everyone in the room (and house) can reap the benefits. But with the AirPursue PM20, as long as you’re in a 16-feet radius, the purifier will turn on and clean the air you’re breathing, directly. And as it doesn’t just stay on in the background, you’ll save energy every time you leave the room.

Wellness is a leading smart home trend of 2025, now that we’re moving towards an era where AI adapts and anticipates rather than simply responding to commands, and the Dreame AirPursue PM20 is part of this shift. It’s clean air without the effort.

Comfort beyond clean air

It’s my job to cover the latest developments in home tech, and a growing trend (and personal favorite of mine) is multi-functional appliances, doing more than the one task they were originally designed for. Dreame’s AirPursue PM20 is a stellar example: Rather than just purifying the air, it also cools you down or warms your home.

So, whether it’s the depths of winter or a scorching summer’s day, the AirPursue PM20 can create a comforting environment. It can heat up in just three seconds up to 140°F, or can provide cooling for rooms as large as 1,076 square feet. It does this evenly – thanks to both upwards and forwards airflow, every corner of the room is covered.

Say goodbye to allergies and viruses thanks to next-level filtration

The Dreame AirPursue PM20 is more than a smart home upgrade, it’s a sophisticated air purification system that rapidly removes household allergens, contaminants and harmful particles from the air. It has four-stage filtration, including a HEPA filter that’s essential to reduce allergy symptoms, a carbon layer for harmful gases and VOCs, a formaldehyde filter, and a magnetic housing filter for larger particles.

Seven sensors accurately measure everything from particulate matter to humidity, detecting particles down to the molecular level to ensure it’s delivering the right purification level. As somebody who tests air purifiers, I can confirm this is a game-changer, as having to adjust the settings yourself can become tiresome over time, and end up resulting with you not properly using the air purifier to avoid the admin.

You get this information in real time, giving you true insight into your home and the mistakes you might be making that lower your air quality. And while the Dreame AirPursue PM20’s sophisticated purification sounds loud, you’ll be happy to hear it runs as quietly as 32 decibels. That’s softer than a whisper and barely noticeable in daily life.

The Dreame AirPursue PM20 is discounted to $719.99 for a limited time from Dreame.
