Charlotte Olby
Charlotte is content editor at Homes and Gardens, having joined the team the week before Christmas 2023. Following a 5 year career in Fashion, she found herself working at many women's glossy magazines including: Grazia, Stylist and Hello as well as freelance styling for one very busy stint. Charlotte was the Interiors Editor at British heritage department store Liberty prior to her role at Homes & Gardens, where she created content for the features hub of the website and worked behind the scenes on the magic-making at Liberty.
Her role at H&G fuses her love of style with Charlotte's passion for interior design. Having grown up in a family with a property developer Grandad at its helm, Charlotte's family moved a lot, and she is no stranger to a building site or floor plan. Alongside her husband Tom and dog Indie, Charlotte is currently undergoing her second home renovation in Surrey. Following on from a 'quick flip' project during lockdown in 2020, this second home is much more a labor of love. You can follow her slow renovating journey over on @olbyhome
Originally from Portsmouth, she loves exploring her new hometown of Haslemere and coming into London for work and play (just don't listen to her moaning about the trains). On the weekends, you'll find her working through the never-ending list of DIY jobs at home - from kitchen fitting to tiling and endless painting. Her personal interior style is ever-evolving, but she mostly admires designers with an eclectic, lived-in feeling that sparks joy like Beata Heuman, Meta Coleman and Studio Ashby.
