Bethenny Frankel says she 'literally wants to cry' when thinking about this intelligent carpet cleaner – it's ultra-satisfying (and under $120)
The famous New Yorker keeps this clever, compact appliance in her closet – it's perfect for spills, and experts approve of her choice

Here on the celebrity style team, we love it when celebs keep things real. While we always enjoy hearing when certain figures endorse a fragrant candle, luxury bedding, or an aesthetic coffee table accessory, we really love it when they're refreshingly practical. The latter is the case with Bethenny Frankel, the Real Housewives of New York City alumn, who shared a recommendation that every homeowner needs to hear.
While Bethenny's lifestyle is associated with luxury, she's stayed true to the show's namesake and shared that Hoover Spotless Portable Carpet & Upholstery Spot Cleaner (available from Amazon) is one of her favorite things.
As well as being one of the best vacuum cleaners for carpets, this clever appliance is perfect for maintaining upholstery – all in a compact size that's small enough to fit in any cupboard (or closet, in Bethenny's case).
'This is No. 1. I literally want to cry thinking about it. My dogs, Biggy and Smallz, are 4 years old, and they sometimes have accidents. So, I keep this in my closet. It’s not the size of a vacuum cleaner. It’s small. It’s not gigantic,' she shared with The Strategist.
She continues: 'It has two sides: One to put the cleaning solution and the water in and another for the garbage water. It’s so satisfying, too. You use a spray handle to spray it, and then there’s another part that just soaks it up. A lot of steamers do not work, and they’re so unwieldy. This is a really good one. It works. I can’t say enough about it.'
Featuring a handy long reach (thanks to its 5ft. hose), this cleaner is perfect for tough stains on the carpet, upholstery, stairs, and more. It easily lifts and removes stains by combining powerful suction and hygienic deep-cleaning tools with the added power of detergents. It's small, powerful, and accessible – what more could we want from a cleaner?
For Dan Fauzi, the tech editor here at Homes & Gardens, Bethenny's love for her spot cleaner is no surprise. They, too, use a similar cleaner in their own home, and, like Bethenny's, it's one of the most useful appliances you can buy (whether you're a pet owner or not).
'While I haven't used the Hoover Spotless, I'm a big advocate for having a spot cleaner around the house. I use one from Bissell, and it's so handy to quickly pull spills and stains out of my rugs, sofas, and carpets,' Dan says.

'They're not as powerful as the best carpet cleaners, of course, but it's an easy, small, and affordable buy that can keep your fabrics spotless.'
