Blake Lively taps into this organic design trend to make her NYC apartment warmer and more inviting
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds seamlessly fuse country and city living aesthetics with this ever-popular design style
Who says that urban and pastoral design trends can’t mix? While sticking to a pure style can be straightforward, we’re taking cues from Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who brought rustic flair to their Tribeca apartment via raw materials that are right on trend.
Blake showed off her spacious yet cozy NYC bedroom (while jokingly referencing her decorating skills) as she posed in a sequined jumpsuit, contrasting her wood ceiling beams and bathroom walls – two natural design features that tap into the ever-popular organic modern design movement.
'Yes, I low-key moonlight as an interior designer, but please don’t tell [because] I definitely don’t want the world to know that I have a hidden talent which I require external validation on,' she captioned her Instagram post.

Achieving this organic design trend is a delicate balance of natural and contemporary sensibilities. To make the opposing aesthetics look as seamless as possible, interior decorator and founder of Viv and Tim Home, Vivianne Chow, suggests beginning with a base of neutral colors, such as creams and whites, brown, and greige.
'Decorating with an organic modern style involves combining the clean lines of modern interior design with natural organic elements to create a warm and inviting home,' she explains.
It’s the perfect trend to try for those who want to soften a cool space or make a rustic one a bit sleeker.

'Stick to modern furniture with clean lines and a minimalist design,' Vivianne advises. 'You can incorporate natural materials such as wood or stone into your coffee table, dining table, or decor selections.'

Blake adds a soft grey bed frame and rug juxtaposed with antique lighting fixtures and brass picture frames adorning the walls. Texture is key for the look; rattan and jute are excellent material options to create a visually pleasing space.
Organic hues and materials aside, we can buy our way into Blake and Ryan's apartment with these inspired picks below. The bedding comes from the same company as the one seen on the actress's bed, so we can rest easy knowing it's some of the best luxury bedding on the market.
We love this elegant pair of glass wall lights in conical shape with gold brushed metallic frame, just the ones in Blake's bedroom. They're designed by WOFI Leuchten in Germany.
