The bright, airy kitchen is timeless for a reason, but there is something to be said about selecting a moody paint color for your kitchen cabinets.

Take Brooke Shields' kitchen, for example. The actor recently shared a clip from her modern space and we couldn't help but admire her dark-blue painted cabinets and dark, marble countertops, which serve in contrast to her white shelves.

The inky paint color strikes a fantastic balance between darkness and color, with its blue tinge creating a cool yet welcoming ambiance. Designers say it's a kitchen trend we can expect to see enduring over the next few years.

According to experts, dark paint colors are on the come-up thanks to their varied shades and ability to elevate a space.

'Dark colors are a rising trend in interior design. Dark colors are bold and dramatic,' Caesarstone’s head of design, Mor Krisher, says. 'They can have within them so many different nuances, tones, and tactilities that give them different character. They can be basic or sophisticated, daring or elegant, industrial or classic, traditional or modern.'

He continues, 'We look for inspiration everywhere and in order to design a series of products that truly captured the trend for dark interiors and kitchens, we turned our attention to the outside world, to the desert landscapes where natural stones are scorched by day and frozen by night, weathered by this endless cycle to produce the most wonderful patinas and textures.'

We can see this one display with the mix of dark marble in Brooke's kitchen, as well as the murky blue paint, which is reminiscent of a twilight sky. However, the balance with the white shelves is crucial, as it keeps the space harmonious and inviting.
