Diane Keaton's living room uniquely balances Spanish revival and modern farmhouse style styles – you can shop the look for under $15
The Stephen Shadley-designed space offers the most personal twist on the modern farmhouse aesthetic I've ever seen – the secret is in the accents and accessories

In Diane Keaton's former Spanish Colonial Revival house in Beverly Hills, two design aesthetics work in harmony. The first (and arguably) most fittingly is the Spanish revival style (seen through the dark wood, terracotta, and mosaics) that complements the home's architectural features. The second is the modern farmhouse aesthetic – one that I often see as a celebrity style editor – but Keaton's is the most inventive.
I've already written about Diane Keaton's modern farmhouse living room, specifically how her use of antiques makes this space feel less like a conventional cookie-cutter version of the trend. With that said, I believe the furniture and accessories that make the space so unique deserve a closer look.
Curated by celebrity-favorite designer Stephen Shadley, accessories, such as terracotta vases, artworks, and bear sculptures, bring a sense of Keaton's character to her living room. They bring the modern farmhouse style to life in ways that feel individual to her – and following her example just got simpler.

While decorating with antiques is entirely personal (and often features one-of-a-kind pieces), we can still buy into Keaton's space with some more contemporary alternatives. I suggest pairing these alongside antique finds of your own (and the other personal pieces that make you the happiest).
Looking at Keaton's space, one, or rather, two, pieces arguably stand out the most. The actress paired two green vases to stand in unison by her fireplace, and we love how synchronized they feel. With that said, however, this vase is powerful enough to make a statement in its own right, so you don't need to invest in two to get the same atmosphere.
Much like Keaton's cowboy-inspired landscape painting, this print (on a high-quality canvas) pays tribute to a rugged land, but it translates to every kind of space. I love how it feels nostalgic in her Spanish revival room, but it also feels calming (and not too overpowering) in a more modern home. Use it to break up the monochromatic modern farmhouse palette, as Keaton has done.
There is no shortage of planters around Keaton's living room, but the one on her coffee table is my favorite. The rounded shape feels soothing and more relaxed in comparison to the other taller pieces in her space. Filling it with greenery is the obvious (and nonetheless good-looking) option, but I would say it's stylish enough to sit without any plant or flower, should you wish.
As a celebrity style editor, there's nothing I love more than catching glimpses of the books figures have on their shelves and atop their coffee table. In the case of Keaton, it's Guess Who, a photography book filled with the acclaimed works of Peggy Sirota. In true Keaton style, it's black-and-white front matches perfectly with her room's color scheme, but of course, we should never judge a book by its cover alone.
It appears as though Keaton has picked up an original bear sculpture (by Canadian artist Mark Totan), but this figurine, made from Obsidian Stone, is a beautiful, more accessible alternative. I love how, despite being small, it adds just the right amount of interest to a coffee table, or, for a change, I'd suggest styling next to books and candles on an open shelf.
Nothing softens a room quicker than a rug, and this hand-tufted piece is the most versatile starting point. Featuring shapes and patterns that are almost identical to Keaton's, I love how this piece looks underneath a coffee table or in the middle of a living space. Its calming colorway is also perfect for a bedroom where color choices matter the most.
