Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Dining Room Features One Striking Art Choice – and It’s All About Scale, Balance, and Nature
The Rock has adorned his dining room mantel with a massive, scenic painting, showing us that art has the power to totally transform a space
Hanging wall art is one of the best ways to spruce up a wall, and all the more true if it's a maximalist piece, whether it is in size or imagery.
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson proves our point with his large-scale, statement artwork hanging above the mantel in his dining area. As seen on his Instagram page, the scenic artwork adds a dramatic point of visual intrigue to the otherwise neutral space.
Notably, the large size fits comfortably above the mantel, rather than dominating the space, and as art experts tell us, size and visuals are equally important for a successful space.

In search of some new art for your home? Here's a beautiful piece that can add some color to your walls. Titled 'Floating Flowers', this watercolor print can breathe new life into your home for the new year. It's sold in an array of different sizes and frame styles, so you can choose which will best suit your space.
By painter Mary O'Malley, this beautiful print is the statement piece any neutral living room needs. The bold colors make it a safe yet powerful choice if you're looking to bring instant vibrancy to your space.
Designed in reference to traditional scrolls, this tapestry looks like a work of art from an ancient time. From its delicate floral details to its rustic finish, it can add character to any wall in your home. At over 6' wide and 4' tall, this tapestry can make a grand statement on any wall from which it's hung.
When it comes to selecting a piece, art insiders say that taste is the ultimate guide.
'Select pieces that resonate with you personally,' suggests Josephine Zentner, Art Prize and Gallery Coordinator at Jackson’s Art. 'Rather than following trends, focus on artwork that evokes a genuine emotional response. This way, your collection remains meaningful and timeless.'
She continues, 'You can select artwork that complements your interior style and the atmosphere you want to create. For calming and neutral spaces, go for minimalist or abstract art in soft tones or monochrome pieces. In a boho setting, choose vibrant, eclectic works that feature natural textures and patterns, such as woven or hand-painted pieces.'
Nature-inspired works are always a win in our books, as they are calming and timeless. However, when it comes to size, Josephine instructs us to get a bit more specific.

'Sizing your art for your space is crucial,' she explains. 'A piece that's too small can get lost on a large wall, leaving it feeling uninspired and bare, while an oversized piece might overwhelm a space. As a general guideline, aim to fill two-thirds to three-quarters of the wall space above a piece of furniture.'
To recreate the maximalist look, we love this oversized tapestry from Magnolia. Alternatively, this floral print is slightly smaller and provides the natural feel we can't get enough of.
