I’ve seen plenty of white bedding, but Goldie Hawn’s one-tone, luxurious bedroom setup is like nothing else this year

The actress's textured bedding setup is so luxurious – it made me reconsider everything I thought I knew about bedroom styling

As a celebrity style editor, I write about white bedrooms almost every day of my life, and, unsurprisingly, this tone is an eternal favorite among famous figures and designers alike.

White bedding is easy to style and safe if you're looking for a color that doesn't feel overwhelming in your sleep space, but in all its versatility, it risks looking slightly flat. This is where Goldie Hawn's textured technique changes the game for good.

I will admit, I always saw the benefits of white bedding, but it never felt dynamic until I saw Goldie's arrangement. However, as Joanna Ross, the general manager of design at Sheridan, we should all rethink how we see white bedding – and Goldie's set-up is the perfect incentive.

'White is strong and modern again. Sometimes a fresh white on white room offers the perfect respite we crave at the day’s end. But where colour is absent, amped-up texture and tactility step in – comforting our senses through touch,' she says.

'We have seen furniture and ceramics take on a more “human” tone through their soft curves and textured finishes, so it is natural that our bedding layers follow suit. Classic ribs nestle with embroidery, or quilted white pattern and pleating… a nurturing trend that offers true individuality and longevity.'

The most beautiful way to introduce white in your bedroom is through multiple textures (including beautiful lace finishes, as Goldie demonstrates). However, as Joanna reminds us, this hue is eternally on-trend and always therapeutic. With this look, it's truly hard to go wrong.
