Grace Kelly may have made her name in Hollywood, but she once called New York City home – now, someone else can claim a unit in her former residence, as an apartment in Manhattan House, a storied property in the Upper East Side, is for sale for $3,250,000.
Now modernized, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom unit exudes quiet luxury, with a cream-based color palette, natural materials like wood and marble dominating the space, and minimalist decor.
Designed by renowned architect Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and made a New York City Landmark in 2007, the building features luxe amenities including a private porte-cochère entry, 24-hour doorman, state-of-the-art fitness center, Roto-designed children’s playroom, and a 10,000-square-foot rooftop club.
The chef's kitchen is bright and airy thanks to white countertops, wood floors, and state-of-the-art appliances. Ample cabinet space is a definite selling point.
The open concept space transitions seamlessly into the living room, with the white and wood motif appearing throughout the space.
The living area, meanwhile, is warm and inviting, with neutrals ranging from the wood floors to the cream sofas, to the upholstered accent chairs. A wood media console and floating shelves create visual interest against the wall, while large windows give a great view of the city.
The all-white bathroom sees flecks of gray stone on the sink, breaking up the modern, minimal look with a beloved natural material.
The nursery is cozy and soft as can be, with space for a crib and accompanying rocking chair in the inviting room.
Moving into the master bedroom, we can't help but admire the textured wall that serves as a makeshift headboard for the bed, while also matching the bedding itself with its subtle stripes. A gold table lamp infuses the space with a bit of luxury, sitting atop a dark, wood nightstand.

Internationally known for their elevated textiles and playful sense of color, Maison de Vacances designed this muted pillow for a twist on all-white bedding.
These sheets are made from eucalyptus fibers, one of the most sustainable fabrics in the industry. By nature, this material is soft, and moisture-wicking for a cool sleep.
This design is understated but never boring: the stonewash effect of the slightly raised threads creates tonal highs and lows.
Meanwhile, the third bedroom sees some modern accents, like the bulbous desk chair and striped-effect rug. A pop of burnt orange is a welcome addition of color in the otherwise neutral space.
