Over the last two years, the term 'quiet luxury' has evolved to describe any space defined by understated elegance, comfort, and high-quality materials. Oftentimes, spaces with stunning marble serve as the perfect backdrop to this aesthetic; however, Kate Hudson has proved it's not the only material worth considering.
In her Pacific Palisades home (previously owned by her mother, Goldie Hawn, no less), Kate makes a beautiful case for patterned kitchen tiles. When designed alongside her blue cabinets and brass accents (best seen through her pot rack display), the tiled backsplash is stunning. It's luxurious in a way that feels personal and somewhat playful – proving that the quiet luxury trend doesn't need to be neutral.
I first discovered Kate's kitchen five years ago when she claimed it was her favorite room in the house. Now I'm revisiting it in 2026, and it's just as inspirational as it was the first time I saw it.
It appears her tiles are bespoke, but you can get the look with these floral-patterned tiles from Amazon. If you have the space, I suggest installing a pot rack (like this one, also at Amazon) and decorating with some brass cookware. I've listed my favorites, alongside some more Kate-inspired accessories, below.

A match to Kate’s vintage kettle, this enamelled steel design pairs a classic whistle and phenolic handle with contemporary performance. Suitable for every hob and crafted for balanced pouring, it blends everyday practicality with quiet, enduring elegance.
Inspired by Kate's tiles, I love this easy-to-apply alternative. Designed for effortless peel-and-stick installation, these durable vinyl tiles offer an easy, design-forward update that stands up beautifully to everyday life.
Effortlessly chic and enduringly practical, this stainless steel ceiling rack nods to Kate’s iconic copper cookware display while elevating storage into a design statement. Suspended overhead, it turns everyday cookware into a sculptural focal point for the kitchen.
No kitchen feels complete without the warm gleam of copper, and this hammered pan delivers the look with understated ease. A refined yet accessible alternative to vintage finds, it brings timeless character without the collector’s price tag.
For a perfect fusion of tradition and modernity, style this oval ceiling rack with rustic copper cookware. The result is a striking transitional centerpiece that enhances any kitchen with effortless elegance.
Featuring an award-winning Ti-Cerama coating, this pan delivers ultra non-stick performance, allowing food to glide off effortlessly without oil or butter. Ready to use straight from the box, it serves as a versatile, multipurpose skillet for any kitchen.
I've coveted tiles similar to Kate's since I first laid eyes on her space in 2021. However, experts explain that following her example has never felt more fashionable.
Patterned, retro-style tiles are shaping kitchen trend forecasts for the rest of 2026, so if you're thinking of swapping out your marble for something more vibrant, there's no time like the present.
'Floor & Decor's 2026 Design Trends Forecast showcases interiors that are bold and full of character. Trends this year draw from a wide range of influences: vintage eras, natural elements, and inventive material combinations – allowing homeowners and designers to reimagine kitchens in distinctive ways,' comments Ashley Biscan, Floor & Decor’s Design and Trend Expert.

'Warm nostalgia meets contemporary polish as the spirit of the 1970s reenters the home. Saturated hues, sculptural forms, and rich wood finishes create spaces that feel expressive yet intentional,' she says.
'Deep ambers, soft burgundies, and smoky neutrals pair with geometric patterns, curved silhouettes, and tactile materials to bring depth and personality to kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.'
Similarly, Ashley recommends mixing eras and textures (similar to what Kate has done with her brassy cookware and vintage accessories) to bring your patterned times to life.
'Mix eras, textures, and patterns to create bold and unexpected combinations that tell a story with nods to the past. Intentional combinations of color and material create spaces that feel layered and unmistakably personal,' she says.
Whether you’re drawn to the elegance of marble or the playful charm of patterned tiles, Kate Hudson’s kitchen proves that quiet luxury can be anything but predictable. By mixing color, texture, and hints of nostalgia, she’s created a space that feels both personal and subtly luxurious – I promise it'll look just as stunning in five more years from now.
