Lisa Vanderpump's home office makes a metallic impact with these European-style statement pieces
The Vanderpump Rules star tapped into an aesthetic from the other side of the Atlantic, with a Beverly Hills twist
Fans of Vanderpump Rules know the titular star, Lisa Vanderpump's home all too well, from her expansive backyard to her luxurious living room. Her home office, however, is also a designer's delight, with one particular feature catching our eyes.
The socialite's workspace features cream and grey furniture, a reflective coffee table, and silver frames. The shiny accents in her home office have us thinking that mixing metals is most definitely in – and experts agree.
According to Georgia Metcalfe, founder and creative director of French Bedroom, the metallic decor has deep European roots, adding to the elegance of the design choice.

'Palatial tones of gold and silver are perfect for bringing a sense of luxury to your home,' Georgia says. 'Ornate French furniture is a very traditional and classic way to weave this trend into your home, as metallic tones work so well with the opulent and delicate detailing of these pieces.'
While shiny accents might feel like bold or trendy pieces to invest in, Georgia says that they are actually quite timeless. 'Metallic finishes are fused in eclectic decorating, a style key in French design,' she explains. 'Combining antiques in metallic finishes with new accessories allows you to have some fun and adds a sense of authenticity that never goes out of fashion.'
Georgia Metcalfe is Co-Founder and Creative Director at The French Bedroom Company. She founded the online boutique in 2006 and her curated selection of furniture has been described by many as “antiques of the future”.
With reflective properties, it makes sense that one of the best ways to incorporate metallics into the home is through shiny lamps and light fixtures (which are definitely a solid way to ease into flashy pieces).
'The specific textures used depend on the overall design style of the room, but when using metallic colours getting the balance is key,' say Niki Wright and Scarlett Hampton, co-founders of lights&lamps. 'If used correctly they can really enhance and lift the overall aesthetic of a room. We often design lighting that combines aged brass accents with neutral grounding textures like rattan and linen.'
