Red-hot temperatures? The Bear's Liza Colón-Zayas relies on a specific window AC – and you should too (our top picks are as little as $152)
Liza revealed that she stays cool with her air conditioning unit in New York City, and we found some excellent options that happen to be on sale

For many of us, this summer has already been a scorcher. Keeping a cool home is a necessity during heat waves, and depending on your home's infrastructure, a window or portable air conditioning unit may be your best option.
It certainly is for The Bear star (and New Yorker) Liza Colón-Zayas, who revealed that one of her must-haves is a window AC unit, a common household item in the Big Apple.
'Our co-op is from the ’60s, and it’s all window units. They’re loud and powerful, and they get the job done,' she told the Strategist.
'I keep ours between 68 and 70, and I have control all the time. It’s not rare for it to be running in the wintertime. I just don’t want street noise, and I get cool, but if I open the window, then it’s got the street noise. Listen, it’s over 100 degrees in New York today. I cannot live without it. And we didn’t grow up with air conditioning. That’s the freakish thing. Now, I can’t be in an environment where there isn’t that option.'
If you've been holding out on purchasing an air conditioner, now is perhaps the best time, as Amazon Prime Day sales continue to reveal themselves.
We've rounded up some of our top picks based on ratings and popularity, so you can stay cool like Liza. From Smart units that you can control from your phone to compact portables that are ideal for small spaces, there are plenty of options to keep your home feeling breezy through this steamy season.
The best part? All of these choices are under $250.00, though we suspect these deals won't last long. Happy shopping!
