While a timeless dining table, chair set and lighting fixture are known to be an unbeatable combination, it was Maggie Gyllenhaal's sophisticated space that made me even more sure of the trio's impact and power.

Maggie Gyllenhaal's midcentury modern dining room is breathtakingly serene. From the high ceilings to the intricate crown molding, the period charm of the brownstone is undeniable. However, what makes the space so impressive is its pared-back, curated feel, decorated with chic midcentury furniture, lighting, and decorations.
An unbeatable combination, no dining table is complete without a pair of candlesticks. Maggie's table features a pair of rustic wooden candlesticks that bring a sense of ambience, perfect for an evening meal with friends.
While Maggie's overhead fixture is undeniably impressive, you'll be pleased to know that these brass gold pendants are equally as chic and will give your dining room a similar luxurious, curated feel.
In keeping with the midcentury style, Maggie has tucked a set of rather chic vintage dining chairs under her table. Collectible furniture can be expensive, so you'll be pleased to know that I've found a rather similar style from Wayfair for a fraction of the price.
Maggie's dining room is artfully curated. While the architecture (glass doors, tall ceilings, and intricate stucco) is breathtaking, the dining room furniture and lighting transform the room into a work of art. Fusing the old with the new (the midcentury modern table, chairs, and lighting give the space a laid-back coolness), the dining room is undeniably transitional in style.
While mixing eras can be tricky, Maggie's dining room proves that midcentury furniture works in almost any space. The vintage dining table is not only chic but also practical; it can fold out when needed. Paired with the curved dining chairs, the arrangement proves that the simplest of setups are often the most stylish.
The star of the show, however, is the rather graceful midcentury lighting fixture that hangs from the dining room ceiling. Admittedly, the Florian Schulz Double Onos 55-Pendant Lamp is a little pricey, so you'll be pleased to know that the Supermoon Pendant Light from Pooky feels equally as chic and will give your dining room a quietly luxurious glow come evening.
