Setting the perfect table is certainly a skill, but one that only requires attention to detail and a solid foundation of accessories.
Martha Stewart, as per usual, has provided insight and products that make setting a table simple and effective, and we are taking notes.
As we are in the thick of Wayfair's Way Day deals, we've been scouring the website for the best home deals, and Martha's collection has some fantastic pieces that would be perfect for any tablescape, including flatware, cutlery, a textured table runner, and reversible placemats.

This cutlery set is perfect for everyday use in addition to looking stunning on a set table, with its cream handles and silver heads.
A runner is the ultimate accent on a set table, allowing the natural details of the surface to shine through while providing a point of visual interest.
The yarn-dyed, cotton-rich fabric on these reversible placemats is durable and elegant, with a honeycomb pattern adding subtle texture to a table.
Setting a gorgeous table is something Martha Stewart is an expert at, whether for holidays and special occasions or a weeknight meal. When it comes to preparing for the former, she revealed some tips on her blog while preparing for St. Patrick's Day back in 2021. However, her comments are just as transferable to other occasions.
'Whenever I entertain, I love to set a gorgeous table in my Brown Room,' Martha states on her blog. 'My housekeeper, Enma, works with me to choose the place settings. Of course, for this occasion, we used a green theme for St. Patrick’s Day. Three blooming begonias were used for the centerpieces.'
Floral centerpieces are an amazing way to enliven a table, and as we are enjoying the spring, seasonal flowers would make a great addition to any neutral table.
She continues, 'Each place setting had a whimsical polka-dotted placemat. The green china plates are monogrammed with an “S” while the crisp white linen napkins show embroidered “M” letters.'

Personalizing a tablescape is also a surefire way to make it look unique and visually engaging.
Try creating a solid base with creams and neutrals from Martha's collection and then adding vintage or decorative objects, like candlesticks and napkin rings, for a look that blends modern and contemporary with traditional and eclectic. With these pieces as a starting point, however, you can't go wrong.
Alongside our favorite Wayfair picks, you can upgrade your table further with these pieces, also designed by Martha Stewart, below.
Retro rattan style
Arguably, nothing looks quite as timeless as rattan, so what better way to elevate our tablescape than with a Stewart-designed twist on the classic? This placemat is constructed of 100% rattan material in a basket woven style – for ageless and durable style.
The Martha Stewart Lots of Lemons Napkins are beautifully printed with a vibrant lemon print with an etched background design. Crafted with cotton-rich fabric, these napkins will help to clean up spills and messes quickly while you dine.
Timeless colorway
Whether we're planning a formal dinner party or a more intimate, informal meal with friends, this ceramic dinnerware set makes eating (and hosting) even more joyful. We love the scintillating rims and bold-tone edges that fit with every tablescape, no matter how dressy.
