When most people think of outdoor cooking, they visualize simple fare; hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled corn, and the like. Matty Matheson, Canadian chef and actor on The Bear, wanted more. So, he created it.
The outdoor kitchen possibilities have infinitely expanded with the actor's new Tread oven, created in partnership with Gozney. Gozney's Tread is known as 'the World's most portable Pizza Oven,' and Matty's orange design brings an additional splash of joy. It's light and portable, with an interior that rises to ultra-high heats for perfectly crisp pizza or a delicious English breakfast.
Of designing his pizza oven, Matty Matheson says: 'I love Gozney and I love to cook outdoors in a Gozney oven. Me and Tom Gozney go way back – imagine two great minds mashed into one great thing. This special edish Matty Matheson Tread is for you. Get out there and make something!'

This highly portable pizza oven brings you pie to go anywhere, anytime. It's the perfect size for a cast-iron pan as well, allowing for flexibility.
This lightweight, short handled tray makes it easy to shape a perfectly circular pizza. It's a seamless extension of the chef's arm.
This stand makes it easy to set up your Tread oven to cook in your backyard, or at a rocky campsite. It brings the outdoor kitchen to you.
Tom Gozney, Founder and Designer of Gozney, is a huge fan of the partnership. He comments: 'Matty’s been part of the Gozney story almost since the beginning—nearly a decade deep. He’s always been obsessed with the gear and has become a real part of the brand’s DNA. So it felt natural—and honestly overdue—to create something together that truly captures that journey.
'The new limited-edition Gozney Tread is loud, bold, full of personality, and just like Matty, it doesn’t take itself too seriously. But underneath all that fun, it’s still Gozney through and through—built for performance, made to last. We wanted something that visually screams Matty, while still delivering the world-class quality we’re known for. I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve made together.'
If you need more convincing, our kitchen appliance experts tested the Tread, and rated it one of the best value for money grills on the market.
Our reviewier, Alex David explains: 'The Tread makes incredibly good pizza, on par with much more expensive options. It made great cheese and pepperoni pizzas, a perfect flatbread, a good calzone, and delicious chicken thighs. It tastes as good as some ovens that are double the price.'
