Miranda Lambert uses this material to bring 'an elegant, organic feel' to her modern farmhouse kitchen
The country singer's country kitchen blends wood finishes with modern accents for delightful results
As a country musician, Miranda Lambert's songs evoke visions of dirt roads and rural pastures; a staple within the genre. However, when it comes to the "Mama's Broken Heart" singer's home, she likes to infuse these country sensibilities with a touch of modernity: AKA, the modern farmhouse look.
The singer-songwriter recently posted a photo of her kitchen on Instagram, and we love the blend of rustic and contemporary elements, from her white-tiled walls to the wood shelves and mint green, painted cabinets.
The modern farmhouse trend is beloved for its ability to combine what may be seen by some as opposing styles. Sleek materials like marble can exist alongside reclaimed wood, with the latter serving as a solid foundation for this ever-trending design.

'Stylistically, the wood look brings an elegant, organic feel to a space, adding texture and interest to an interior whilst remaining neutral,' says Neel Bradham, a design expert from Parador. 'From beautiful oaks and deep walnuts to light ash, these natural hues incorporate the outside world into our homes, offering a grounded and calm foundation.'
Another key element of the modern farmhouse trend, as seen in Lambert's own kitchen, is open shelving. Allowing chic and frequently-used items like ceramic bowls or vintage pitchers to be displayed just adds to the rustic appeal.
'Whether it's a renovation of an older home or the construction of a new one, these modern farmhouse-style homes all tend to have design features like exposed beams, walls paneled in shiplap or beadboard, and kitchens that feature exposed shelving instead of upper cabinets, apron front sinks and a classic gooseneck faucet,' says Angelica Ferguson VonDrak, Associate Real Estate Broker at Sotheby's International Realty.
The burst of green via Lambert's mint cabinets is also intentional in achieving the modern farmhouse look; though the style favors warm neutrals, a pop of green is recommended by experts to create some vibrancy in the space.

'The sage color will compliment the lighter tones in the space and connect beautifully with the black accents to bring all of the elements together in a cohesive and organic way,' says Jane Barnes, designer at her eponymous company. 'Plants are another excellent way to achieve this, real or faux.'
