The Textured Decorating Trick Simone Biles Uses to Make Her White Kitchen Look Bright, Layered, and Effortlessly Stylish
Simone shows how subtle touches can completely transform ordinary interiors into spaces that feel elegant, inviting, and full of personality

White kitchens are one of the most enduring and widely used interior styles. This timeless trend is highly customizable thanks to the thousands of variations of this neutral color and the materials that can be paired with it.
As the shorter, darker days of autumn and winter approach, embracing a light and airy kitchen can be a welcome way to brighten your home.
Olympic medalist and gymnast Simone Biles' white kitchen technique is the perfect blueprint, especially when it comes to the power of varying textures. The award-winning athlete shared a photo of her crisp, clean kitchen on her Instagram page, where her white-painted cabinets blend seamlessly into greige walls and oatmeal-colored, tiled floors.

Below, we have rounded up some white textured kitchen accessories that are excellent additions to any light and airy culinary space. I particularly love the quietly luxurious marble tray from Wayfair that's great for hosting. There's nothing chicer than functional decor.
Marble instantly elevates any kitchen with a subtle touch of luxury. Bring style to your countertops or island by placing a marble tray, styled with a candle, a small bud vase, or a chic olive oil bottle.

Italian luxury made effortless: these towels infuse every kitchen with Southern European charm, combining style and practicality in one elegant package.
While white kitchens certainly offer a modern and clean appearance, they can sometimes look flat without material variety. 'The key with a neutral kitchen is to pair cabinetry with contrasting walls and textural elements,' says Tom Howley, creative design director at his eponymous brand.
'This will give the design an edge and create appealing visual interest.' This is especially important during the holiday season when kitchens are often the heart of home entertaining.
We love how Biles added subtle hints of texture to her space with intricate chandeliers, marbled tiles, and ceramic vases on the table. This mix of materials helps create visual interest, and Howley has additional ideas to achieve this in our kitchen.

'If you have crisp white or cream kitchen cabinets, you could opt for a contrasting walnut finish for the racks and shelving within,' he says. 'Choose a smoky wood finish for the internal shelving for a stylish edge.'
Finally, don't be afraid to add subtle touches of opposing, darker neutrals in a white kitchen. 'Adding some black or brown accents in a white kitchen will not completely darken the space; in fact, it will simply frame the lighter colors that make up the base of the room,' explains Homes & Gardens' editor, Jennifer Ebert.
'We can see Simone Biles has done this by including dark leather chairs and transparent, black lampshades, which are highly complementary against the mostly cream and white kitchen scheme.' This monochromatic look is ageless – and creates yet more interest through a juxtaposition that will impress in every type of home, from cozy winter retreats to bright summer havens.
