Taylor Lautner's 'modern luxury' living room is a twist on this popular 2024 color trend
The quietly luxurious space unites unusual textures and shapes with a neutral color scheme that's on trend for the year ahead
For inspiration in neutral decorating, look no further than Taylor Lautner's living room. The Twilight actor took to Instagram to share a video of his home and we were instantly captivated by his cozy take on the modern organic look.
Lautner's living space is a flowing landscape of greige, punctuated by darkly contrasting hardware. It incorporates numerous textures, from the river-bottom-inspired rug to the sofa and the spoked mirror above the fireplace. In the center of the neutral living room, an oval coffee table with two differently shaped legs adds organic lines, adding interior to the angularity of the rest of the space.
Design experts say that the color is one of the most popular color trends of 2024. 'We've been seeing an increase in the use of beige across the interior space since early 2023,' says Jennifer Ebert, the digital editor at Homes & Gardens. 'The color is very versatile and slightly warmer than shades like cream or white. In Taylor's living room, a touch of gray adds some depth to the scheme. It contrasts with the dark of the wood balcony and cools down the overall look.'

Furthermore, experts say Taylor has done the greige color scheme the right way, which means incorporating lots of texture and shape.
'When decorating with neutrals, the space isn't interesting through color, so you have to add interest with other elements of design. In this living room, Taylor adds interest with the use of contrasting lines,' comments Carlin Van Noppen, the head designer at Fig Linens and Home.
'The curved coffee table, mirror, and scalloped edge of the rug pair perfectly with the straight-lined sofa, fireplace, and windows.'

'The use of texture is also strong here. The combination of Lautner's plush rug with the linen-style sofa and smooth coffee table perfectly draws the eye in.'
