Travis Scott's sculptural sofa is the ultimate 'if you know, you know' furnishing for music industry insiders – and it's easy to see why

The Pierre Paulin Dune Ensemble is not just any sofa, it's the sofa. Travis Scott's adoration of the piece is just the latest in a long line of celebrities to be photographed sitting on it.

We spotted the celebrity-favorite couch in an Instagram post shared by the brand, Paulin Paulin Paulin. Travis lounges on a white version of the system, smoking casually. For insiders, however, the couch is anything but casual.

As reported by The Fast Company, though the living room sofa was designed in the 70s, it has quickly risen to prominence as the 'it sofa' of the music industry. Fellow fans include the likes of Flea, Frank Ocean, and Peggy Gou.

Shop the Look

Though famous people have always coveted luxury furniture, this living room piece is especially notable for its recognizable silhouette. The undulating curves and valleys look almost like a landscape, and the sofa is instantly distinguishable as a Paulin Paulin Paulin.

This uniqueness is what primed the piece to be the ultimate insider sofa trend for 2025. With the ubiquity of social media, the once private interiors of our homes have become a public space. Thus, increased visibily has lead to a rise in the uniformity of our spaces, with brands creating 'dupes' of 'dupes' based on a relatively small number of furnishings.

Innovators in the music industry in turn seek to distinguish themselves. Rather than simply choosing a sofa that is branded as a luxury piece, they search for furnishings that make a unique statement about their knowledge of design history, their level of wealth, and their one-of-a-kind taste. The made-to-order curved couch is the perfect antidote.

Megan Slack, Head of Celebrity Style at Homes & Gardens explains: 'Travis Scott's sofa choice signals not only his great sense of style, but also his connection to all of the other famous people who have this sofa. It feels like the ultimate form of insider knowledge, where only those who have done their research can get into the club.'

To recreate a similar look in your home, I recommend opting for a modular sofa that can be arranged in an array of unique formations. Bonus points if it has an interesting shape.
