Every year, Shea McGee’s holiday collections serve as a useful barometer for the Christmas trends to come. Last summer’s preview of twisted metals, tiny wreaths, and tassels proved fairly prophetic. By the final chill of the Christmas season, they were everywhere.
It might only be September, but Shea’s 2026 holiday lineup is looking just as prescient. There’s an ingenious card-holder garland for personal momentos, an endearingly scanty Charlie Brown Christmas tree, even a woven porch sleigh to tote around your new loot. But the citrus is the real headline. Faux tangerines gather into wreaths and credenza arrangements, while dried-orange garlands bring something earthy to a season otherwise plagued by tacky plastics.
Speaking of natural touches, I was delighted to see amaranthus make an appearance. Avant-garde decorators like Marco Zamora made those cascading burgundy plumes the look du jour on Instagram last year. The real thing, however, is messy and hard to get. Shea has scaled the look into convenient little picks that slide right into the tree, with none of the need to vacuum and all of the same luxuriously layered drama.
Elsewhere, you best believe Shea has every holiday vignette you spent the ickiest, stickiest stretch of summer dreaming about covered. Her faux pre-lit trees are back and second to none. Tartan stockings go full Ralph Lauren along the mantel. Rich red-and-white florals are merry without screaming December 25, which means they can reasonably sleep in until March. Ornaments mix metals and pearls like jewelry. Basically, the only thing better dressed than you, the chic, in-the-know host who had the foresight to think about Christmas in September, is your tree.
I’ll happily concede the title. Ahead, 28 things other Christmas collections will copy, but never do quite as well.
