I'm desperate to spruce up my city yard in time for summer, and I have one thing in mind: color. All my annuals are about to burst into to life, but I've been on the hunt for equally glorious planters to complete the look.

After shopping around, my current favorite accessories are two-tone ceramic pots like Walmart's red ombre planter – and ALDI's Belavi ombre planter, which comes in three colorways.

Why Two-Tone Planters Are This Summer's Most Stylish Garden Accessory

Ombre prints may seem like a blast from the past, but to me, they provide the perfect opportunity to tap into one of this summer's biggest trends: whimsical garden ideas.

Whether you're drawn to vibrant hues or you prefer a more restrained color palette, two-tone pieces will allow you to make a design statement that feels eye-catching and yet intentional. They won't steal the spotlight – your planting is, of course, the star of the show – but they'll still add plenty of visual interest to your yard.

I love the bold red and joyful blue versions of ALDI's Belavi planters, but the pale orange, honey-hued colorway is particularly ideal for anyone who feels more aligned with neutral tones.

These planters are proof that pops of color don't need to feel daring or garish; instead, they can be refined, sophisticated and (crucially) affordable, too.

It must be said: elegant planters are often an investment. I've had my eye on pieces like West Elm's splash planter and CB2's blue pedestal planter bowl, but options like ALDI's are an impressively affordable alternative.

The benefit of containers, of course, is that they can transform any area of your garden or home. From tabletops to balconies, decks and even staircases, planters will make even the smallest nook or cranny feel beautifully styled.

Statement planters are also brilliant container gardening tricks that make small patios feel expensive.

Narrow, shaded or compact spaces like patios can risk looking neglected, but carefully-chosen pots provide color, texture and a real sense of energy. I'd layer ALDI's ombre planters with taller pieces like the Gracie Oaks metal pot planters from Wayfair.

As the kind of gardener that leans toward maximalist touches in the summertime, these planters really do feel like the perfect find – but the two-tone design is just as ideal for anyone more tentative about adding color to their yard.

Whether you experiment with mixed planting in one container, or stick to your favorite flowers and shrubs, creating a stylish summer display couldn't be simpler. And with planters like these, it won't break the bank, either.
